    Re: green tea

Green tea has caffeine. I think the amount is either the same or slightly lower than black tea.

You need to look for the "decaffeinated" teas.

Caffeine is to be avoid according to Dr. Atkins.

Friends give me boxes of tea all the time. I use them in place of a hard wood to smoke chicken or fish.

Excessive caffine should be avoided. Caffine (excessive or not) could cause a stall

              Re: green tea

Caffeine causes a raise in blood sugar when you first drink it. An hour or two later the blood sugar plummets. If you have blood sugar issues this can cause you to become very hungry. If you don't have blood sugar issues than you won't notice the hunger. In that case I would say caffeine doesn't effect the diet for you... If you notice the hunger, I would avoid caffeine.

I have to avoid caffeine because I would have diet soda with dinner and then several hours after dinner I would become voraciously hungry like I could eat a horse hungry... it was horrible...

it depends on YOUR body... caffeine does not cause stalls (unless you give in to the hunger and binge)

Hunger is not the only symptom of blood sugar distress, so take the test on pp. 150-151 in DANDR before deciding how it affects you.

They will keep quite a long time unopened, so maybe tuck them away till you are further along on your Atkins journey.
