    PLEASE,
    Can someone give me a sample day's diet that is as follows:
    contains at least 12-15 net carbs from veggies
    contains 2 cups of salad veggies
    contains 1 cup of other veggies

    I'm having trouble getting that to add up. I'd love some sample ideas... the one week induction menu in the book doesn't provide the previously suggested 12-15 net carbs from veggies. I love veggies and I've been focusing on eating the 12-15 net carbs from salad and I think maybe I've been eating too many veggies? My total day net carb count hasn't gone over 18 since I started. But my lipolysis strips are back to zero effect when they were pink just 2 days ago.

    I've had some hypothyroid issues and unfortunately I'm needing to be a letter of the law type of dieter right now - so some examples would really help! Thanks!

    According to Dr. Atkins, you do not have to aim for 12-15 net carbs. This is a rule that was added later by Atkins Nutritionals and does not appear in DANDR. All you have to do is eat 3 cups of vegetables the way you wrote above and get over half of your net carbs from veggies.

    If you've been following the Rules of Induction, you don't have to worry about the color of the ketostix. One of the purposes of Induction is to put your body into ketosis, not to make your pee turn ketostix purple. Ketostix only measure the concentration of excess ketone bodies in the urine, which means they won't change color if you are using all the acetoacetate (this is the only kind of ketone body ketostix are sensitive to) for energy or if the concentration is below the detection threshold.

        Here you go:

        1 cup of jicama (salad veggie) @ 5g net carbs
        1 cup of red bellpepper strips (salad veggie) @ 6g net carbs
        1/2 can pumpkin (which is .88 cups/Other veggie) @ 7g net carbs
        TOTAL OF 18g NET VEGGIE CARBS

        About the strips - personally, I wouldn't bother with them. I tried them once, and found that most of the bottle was faulty. Plus, there are too many factors that can influence the results. And, you can be in ketosis and not lose weight, and you can lose weight and not be in ketosis. I always just made sure to follow the plan to the letter, weighed weekly (not daily) and used the fit of my clothes as a gauge for fat loss.

        Having said that - while it is possible that too many Induction veggies would knock you out of ketosis, it is more likely to be something else. If you could provide your menus (inluding what you drink) with exact portions, perhaps someone might catch something that may be the culprit.

          Thanks so much for all of your input! I feel so lucky to have found this huge support system and I hope to one day be the weight loss success and inspiration to others that ya'll are to me!

            Per suggestion - here is this weeks menu

            Monday: (my highest carb day)
            b-fast - 2 eggs, 2T cheddar
            Lunch (10.35 net carbs) - 6 deli turkey slices, 1 1/2 oz dubliner cheese
            salad- 2 cups mixed lettuces, 1/2 tomato, 1/4 C bell pepper, 1/2 c cucumber,
            1/2 avocado, 1/2 c broccoli
            Dinner (3.9)- hamburger patty, 1 1/2 oz dubliner cheese
            salad - 2 c mixed lettuce, 1/2 tomato, 2T shredded mozzarrella, 2T Annie's Goddess Dressing
            total carbs - 15.65


            Tuesday:
            B-fast (2.4 carbs)- 2 eggs, shredded dubliner cheese, 1/4 medium tomato
            lunch (4.9 carbs)- salad - 2C mixed lettuce, 1 1/2 oz dubliner cheese, 1/2 medium tomato, 2T dressing, 1/2 C cucumber
            Snack(1.75 carbs)- 1/2 avocado, 1T mayo
            Snack (1.4 carbs) - 10 olives
            Dinner (4.9)- Salad - chicken breast, 1 oz dubliner cheese, 1/2 medium tomato, 2T Annie's Goddess dressing, 1/2 C Cucumber
            Total Carb (15.35)

            Wednesday-
            B-fast(1.2) - 2 eggs, 1/2 oz dubliner cheese
            Lunch - Salad from Islands Restaurant (I ate half of a "half-size" salad)
            grilled cx breast, bacon, avocado(probably 1/4 cup), toms (probably 1/4 cup), hard boiled egg, bleu cheese crumbles, lettuce, about 3T blue cheese dressing

            Dinner - 1 zucchini , 2 oz chredded cheddar, 3 slices of bacon


            So... here's what has slowed me down... I know that I should only get on the scale once a week - but if I'm doing something wrong... I want to change it fast! thanks for your input!

              Salad list vegetables are limited to 3 cups daily. However, if you eat 1 cup of the "other list" vegetables, then the "salad list" veggies are limited to 2 cups daily.

              Lettuce, peppers, cucumbers, are considered "salad" list vegetables. Tomatoes and brocoli are "other list" vegetables. So the menues you've provided are well over the 3 cups veggie totals.
