  • Day 13, I'm slipping

I don't like vegetables and I know I should be eating more.

I don't like to cook and I'm really tired of washing pans everyday.

I just need to whine. I used o eat out a LOT more for convenience. I have a young child who always needs my attention and it's hard to get even a minute to cook or plan a meal. (She's not a big eater, so she's easily satisified.)

Is there somewhere I can order out other than Pollo Loco? I'm beat.

On the upside, my goal was 15lbs, and I'm down 8+.

    Thanks for the vent.

lol I know how you feel.

I hate all the constant shopping for fresh whole foods (and damn they're expensive!!), washing pan after pan after pan.

I work as a Flight Attendant and I'm never in the mood for cooking when I get home, lol.

You have my sympathies. Keep yer chin up and soldier on though

If you cook them, you can be done with them in fewer bites as most of them reduce their volume when cooked.

A quiche takes about a 20 min to prepare (incl. shredding the cheese, cutting veggies, etc.) and can last a whole week. If you like eggs, they are easy to cook (e.g. boil more eggs at once and have them throughout the week for any of your meals) and filling. You can cook more meat at once and use it in different things so that you don't eat the same stuff every day (e.g. I made grilled chicken legs a few days ago for lunch; then I used them the next day for a chicken salad and an omelet, and also made a quiche from what was left).

I know you just wanted to vent though...

I rarely eat out, plus I live in Germany so my advice on that would not be very useful for you. I'm sure others can recommend some places though. You can also check the menus of most restaurants online (some have nutritional info and lists of ingredients too) and decide what's best to have. If you don't have Chapter 19 fresh in your mind, it would be good to re-read it so you know what should be avoided (sauces and balsamic vinegar are two examples). If you're not sure about a place/food, ask here and maybe someone ate there before and can help you.

I would cook several dishes at once to last the week so all I had to do was pop it in the microwave. Soups, pureed cauliflower "mashed potatoes" (which you can add cheese and chicken broth and have a creamy soup), chili with no beans, chicken with peppers and onions sauteed up for fajitas (with lettuce "tortillas"), pre-bake a chicken and other oven roasted meats together in advance.

All of this takes some of the pressure off during the week when you are tired and hungry arriving home.
