Cravings can be plain old 'withdrawal' symptoms and if so shoul diminish the longer you manage not to feed your sweet tooth/caffeine cravings.

Have you checked all the ingredients in what you eat in case any of them contain sugar in one of its disguises which is surruptitiously (sp?) feeding your sugar monster?
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Its your 5th day and it varies person to person hang in there hopefully your cravings will go.Whip some fresh cream(double)add teaspoon of cocoa powder low in carbs and make a chocolte desert if cravings go out of hand.

Make sure you are taking your multivitamins. Chocolate cravings are a sign of magnesium deficiency.

if you do the whipped cream with cocoa you are feeding the cravings -- personally I wouldn't give in to the cravings....if you do this early into the plan how are you going to stay on plan later on? When you have cravings remember what Megs said - it may be a deficinency .... when it happens get up - drink a large glass of water and do something to get you mind off it -- exercise, clean a room, just get your mind off cravings. If you keep busy it helps.

thanks for the responses! craving left but it's day 6 and I had absolutely no desire to get up and do things for about 3 hours and have been feeling so sluggish. have lost no weight and don't know if it's just not the right diet for me or if I should wait it out 'til 14 days. I'm usually a go getter and this new diet change has completely left me lacking getting up in the morning. help!

Re: 5th night and craving chocolate and coffee

I'm on day 8 of clean induction - strictly by the book and the last few days have been getting sugar cravings. I generally stay away from as's even, splenda, but i thought it would be better to have a small amount than try and be miserable fighting it . ( I've been doing atkins/low carb for just a week over 2 years so my body is adapted to low carbing in general - just went a bit ott with the cream, nuts and lindt lately and put on a 12lbs since xmas!) So as a 'dessert' i just whisked up an egg and microwaved it till (bit like the danish recipe but with nothing added) used my induction cream allowance (3 tbspns) and sprinkled 2tspns of splenda onto it, and then mixed in about a tbspn of unsalted butter. It hit the spot and had extra fat to boot. I have also been having a measured amount (200ml)of sparkling flavoured water that is sweetened with sucralose. I count all the carbs towards my 20 for the day. It has just helped take the edge off the cravings. The flavoured water is a tesco branded one and they are on offer at the moment 3 for a £1. Beware tho- only get this if you can limit yourself to a measured amount a day. Because I do believe that it would stall you otherwise and though made with sucralose and low carb - still carbs.
