  • day 9, gained weight, gained inches

so completely disappointed right now. gained like 5 pounds after losing 3 a few days ago. inches have gone up by up to 1/2 inch. what is going on!

I broke the exercise routine the first 5 days because of induction flu and was craving all this caffeine and sugar. but those cravings have gone. I feel more energy but with these results I'd rather go back into ways that have worked in the past that are very destructive but I see results straight off the bat. wasn't expecting to gain anything and have a very obsessive stance towards my body. so any encouragement would be appreciated or I might just go back into binge drinking and purging. I don't want to and am working on that.. actually I won't be doing that, but it's got really fast results, but emotionally draining, physically hurts and the list goes on... and a friend of mine suggested doing this diet but really frustrated right now. going to just try to stick to the 14 days.

also curious if any of you know of an anti-after 7 pm eating thing? it says eat when you're hungry which I've been doing.

    yesterday consisted of

    breakfast:
2 eggs scrambled, a little bit of cheddar, 1 tspn salsa

    snack:
salami (0 carbs) and salad with olive oil, tspn vinaigrette

    lunch:
salad, cheese, olive oil, 1 tspn vinaigrette, olive bruschetta (2 carbs)

snack: 1 venti Americano watered down (decaf) with 1 splenda

    dinner:
10 chicken hot wings (lots of butter and hot sauce)
    salad on the side

plus I drank like 2 caffeine free root beers and lots lots lots water

    yoga in the morning

and this morning the scale is topping over 140 which I haven't been in 3 months so I'm freaking out. all time low was 129 eating 500-800 calories a day. about a month ago

how much salami are you eating?

Besides olives, what's in the olive brushetta?

What's in the sauce for the wings?

Check the sodium content on those things too. Sometimes sodium can cause water retention. Also is your TOM near? I retain about 3-7 pounds of water weight during my TOM.

        hhahahaha

yea the wings are purely just the hot sauce and butter

eating maybe 10 salami's it says you don't want to be hungry so I don't know. bread is much more filling than salami.... hence the eating more salami

        what is TOM?

and how long of doing this 'til I just give up and go back to 500 calorie days? I'm much more inclined to do those being that it works

maybe it's just not the right diet for me?

          Hi Tasha

TOM = time of the month, which many women members find affects their weightloss efforts by adding pounds either before, during, or afterwards (sometimes at all those times )

Re: day 9, gained weight, gained inches

One thing to consider is that if you were eating 500-800 calories up to starting induction your body might react to being fed enough food as if a famine has just ended and it is stocking up on the ample fat and nutrients that it has been starved of in the past to see it through the next famine.

I have seen many posters over the various lowcarb boards I visit who have switched from a 'starvation-style diet' to Atkins who experienced a weight gain over the first couple of weeks on induction before their body realised that the 'refeed' that Atkins induction amounts to for their deprived self is going to be their new 'normal diet' and allows itself to start losing any excess fat.

I can't tell from your posts so far what height you are, what gender and how much weight you are hoping to lose, which information will help others advise you. Most of us put this info into our signature so it appears each time we post.

My question too. Was the root beer drink a regular caffeine free or was it diet. That does make a difference.

You also have a fair amount of sodium in there. The temporary water weight would account for a pound or so and the extra 1/2 inch. Give your body time to adjust. You aren't being fair to yourself or this WOE by hopping on and off the scale and measuring daily.
