  • induction one and a half lol

    my two weeks ends today. So I am thinking of adding five grams more in like every other day to see if that will work. I am so afraid of stalling. I am a slow loser anyway. 4 pounds in two weeks and that is with no cheats and exercising. My bgs are really great thou so I love this way of eating. Staying with the plan.

    Never despise small beginnings
    started lc in late 90-s. My heaviest weight was 238.
    5' 3" female
    weighed 160 three weeks ago. was doing the new atkins.
    Mon, June 8th,2009 went to atkin 72. weight was 156.8
    I would like to get back to 140 for my first goal.

    That is great progress

    As you had already done 3 weeks on Atkins as per DANDR (the version we use here) before switching to the old version (DADR) your loss of 4 pounds out of a total hoped-for 16.8 pounds in 2 weeks is terrific!

    Most people see a halt in losses the third/fourth week if they stay on induction, and you carried on losing

    Your decision to move on and start to add more carbs is a good one

    However do bear in mind that on this board we are not following the same version of Atkins that you have changed to, so make sure if you ask for advice that you point out that you are not doing the OWL progression as per DANDR (starting by adding 5 net carbs of induction veggies the first week then moving up the carbohydrate ladder), or people will keep advising you that you are doing it wrong (according to the book)

      I agree. Since you don't have much to lose, your results are terrific. You should definitely move up 5 because you are close enough to goal that you really need to learn how to maintain your loss and that comes from finding the things that trigger or stall you over time. Congratulations on a very fast start!
