  • Day 3, Caffeine/Sugar Withdrawal

I'm on day 3 and I'm not hungry but have a really bad headache and feel sluggish.
I'm drinking a minimum of 64 oz. of water to stay hydrated.
I think it's more the caffeine than sugar, and I'm dying for a cup of coffee.
I read the book and know that this is normal but right now I could use a little reinforcement.. Please tell me this will pass.

It will pass - and when it does, you'll be on your way to suppressed hunger, then you'll have to remember to eat! Isn't that a novel concept - it was for me!!

      Re: Day 3, Caffeine/Sugar Withdrawal

Caffeine withdrawal usually takes about 48 hours from the time the headache starts... anti-inflammatory pills help a lot... (ibuprofen, aleve, etc...)

Since you are also going through sugar withdrawal (which can hit on day 2 and last until day 4/5) you might experience a longer headache than others, but after the caffeine withdrawal headache (which is horrible) the sugar withdrawal headache will be a breeze...

Good luck on getting over this hump quickly!

It shall pass and yes you will feel better! Clear thinking, level moods, and more. Hang in there, I had it bad too.
Seems like the worse it is the more we know how bad we have corrupted our bodies and brains. I see the young kids drinking the power drinks thinking they are healthy, I feel sorry for them in a few years when it catches up to them.

        Hang in there!

up your water to more than 64 ounces -- that is the minimum you should be drinking. Also, you can have a cup of decaf or some people try half caf. Decaf hot tea is also something you could drink in the morning. That being said, you will feel much better today or tomorrow....we all experience this!
