  • help, stuck at the beggining?!?

hello, my name is adrian, im new to this forum, and heres my story, i started 11 days ago, i lost 2 pounds the first day, 2 the second day, and 2 the third day, i suppose they are water... fine..

after day 3, i didnt lose any more weight, and i have been stuck for maybe 8 days?!? whats going on? any ideas?

i dont drink diet coke or anything else other than water, i drink my water everyday, in fact more than is required, i dont eat anything thats not on the eat free chart, so i only eat meat, chicken and eggs, and very very little tomato or onions with it, trying not to surpass the servings marked, i even eat like 1/3 of cup tops each day...

i dont know whats going on, and if i get to the end of day 14 and i dont see any more weight loss i think i will drop it

havent cheat or anything... im under some kind of pressure, with final exams and work im trying to tell myself this is just stress...

thank you all for your time. i currently weight 214 lbs and im 1.74mts tall

    and i weight 170 lbs

    Hi and welcome.

First off, you've lost 6 pounds. So congrats like that.

Secondly, if you're only eating 1/3 cup of veggies a day, you're not following the Atkins Plan. Also there are no "free foods" on Atkins either.

Thirdly, did you take measurements of yourself before you began? The loss of inches is more indicative of fat loss than the numbers on the scale. Inches lost represents your fat cells emptying out the fat.

Fourthly, are you exercising at least 30-45 minutes of aerobic exercise most days of the week with at least 15 minutes of weight training 3 times a week? Are you drinking your water and taking your multivitamins?

if I'm reading your info about your goal weight and your current start weight you have lost 6 pounds of the 50 pounds you need to lose so you have already exceeeded the expected induction loss of 5-10% of the pounds you need to lose and you haven't even been doingyour Atkins correctly! Just think when you add those 3 cups of veggies and the mandatory exercise to your plan you will be an even bigger loser.

Please take the time to read DR ATKINS' NEW DIET REVOLUTION 2002 ornewer printing so you understand exactkly what you are supposed to be doing. We had a person who was a 2 yr atkins goalie regained it and losing again person post just this morning she had never until now read her book and understood that she wasn't doing Dr Atkins plan but her own idea of his plan.

        Happy low carbing.

ahh you young kids always in a rush...I can always tell the students because they are so impatient with their weight loss...six pounds is great no matter what diet you are doing...you need to go into it with a more positive attitude because alot of us would celebrate a 6lb loss not think of quitting...you've gotten good advice so far...you need more veggies definitely...and read the 2002 DNDR as well as the stickies at the top of this forum for more information on induction...this isn't a race and it will happen if you commit to it like you commit to anything else in your life(like school).

Yes, definitely read Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution, version 2002, DANDR for short, follow the Rules of Induction, and eat only from the Acceptable Foods list.

Make sure and eat your 3 cups of veggies a day, and stay within the limits of cheese, sweeteners, etc.

Take the time to read the sticky's in this forum, and any other forum you go into because they're full of valuable information.

Like this one..it should make you feel a bit better

but if you're going to do Atkins, you need to educate yourself as much as you can about it, and exercise your patience as well as your body. :yes
