  • Finished induction

I got very sick for about a week after ruining my 1st attempt at induction. But here I am after 2 wkd clean eating! I lost 5 lbs. I also stopped drinking soda, I stopped having stomach cramps when I eat, and after about 4 days I stopped feeling ravenous.

Bottomline I know this woe is good 4 me because I feel better. But I do miss comfort food like mac n cheese, pizza & a glass of red wine followed by ice cream and brownies. For now I am going to move on to rung 1 in the hope that extra choices of food can keep me going.

    Thanks for the info here.

Congrats for the 5 lbs! And good for you for seeing changes beyond weight loss.

"See" you in the OWL forum.

Yes OWL is fun - working on adding things back and trying them out. Like discovering a whole new world of tastes and possiblilites. Glad it is working for you.

        Hi Jenny,

I haven't yet found substitutes for wine, brownies or ice-cream, but for other comfort food, I like Linda's spinach lasagne, 'stick to your ribs chili', pizza using a slice of picnic ham for the crust, meatloaf, Linda's shepherd's pie...trying some recipes may make this WOE seem a little more 'normal'

PM me if you can't find any of these...I'm not even sure where I got some of them

main thing is to learn to eat right. once you hit your goal weight, i'm sure you can occasionally eat those things. until then you need to suck it up

Brownies: you can make some with almond flour and unsweetened chocolate (or cocoa, I guess) once you reach OWL Rung 3

Ice cream (watch your heavy cream, which during Induction and OWL Rung 1 is limited to 2-3 tablespoons as a beverage and 3 oz as a "Special Category Food"):
