  • Starting Induction Today (1st July)

Hey all well a little intro .... Im lins im 28 a sahm to 5 and just had a baby (3weeks old now) im going to try and shift this baby gain (plus gain from previous pregnancies) I suffer with a hypothyroid disorder and have gained about 50-60lbs over the last 5 years despite meds not stopping me from gaining and the typical dietician approach of 'low fat' 'count calories' etc i think that changing the way my body uses its fuel (as in fat instead of carbs) is the only woe thats gonna work - i hope!
startin Induction today here are my stats.

    195lbs

    Bust:- (fullest) 46" (band) 37.5"
    Waist:- 43"
    Hips:- 42"
    Thigh(s) :- 24"
    Calf:- 14.5"
    Ankle:- 9.5"

wishing myself the courage to see this through the first hard days then onto a whole new way of living! I want this so bad I hope 14 days from now i can see an improveent wether it be in lbs or inches i dont mind i just need this fat shifted! xxx

Welcome to ADBB Lins, and congratulations on the birth of your baby

Are you still breastfeeding? The reason I ask is that Dr Atkins did not want pregnant or nursing mothers to be following the weightloss phases of Atkins, but rather to eat a 'maintenance' choice of foods instead..
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Check out our Low Carb Recipes website and add to it!!

        thanks elizellen
no im not breast feeding now, only managed the first week big boy and just wasnt getting enough and making me very sore and bleeding, he was such a leech so onto bottles we went and he's thriving like a good 'un now
Im doing ok so far with it all and hoping to make it through Induction without a fall or 'cheat' of any kind xx

Re: Starting Induction Today (1st July)

i'll give you the best hint for induction, i cannot repeat it enough

get rid of all the food in your fridge and cardboards that is not allowed on induction

            NOW

because you will get tempted after about a week to eat carbs if you see them lying around. i GUARANTEE it.

out of sight, out of mind.

and if your husband objects, slap him with a back of the hand

Re: Starting Induction Today (1st July)

not too bad for first week only one little slip back on the wagon oday i plan on doing extended induction i think as im very metabolic resistant with being hypothyroid and and keeping carbs under the recommended 20 but only at about 15-17 that ive averaged this week.
lost 1lb and 1" from my hips? co-incidence? not sure but as long as the numbers are dwindling thats good enough for me xxx
