  • Just Started Atkins Induction...

    Today i just started the atkins induction. Ive tried it a couple of times before but kept cheating. Im going full on this time with no cheats! I a BIG sugar addict and these first few days are gonna kill me, lol. I am also new to the ADBD so ill be posting and tryna get the hang of everything. So far for breakfast ive had 2 scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese and 2 slices of bacon. Gotta go to work now...see ya!

    Welcome to ADBB!

    I'm sure you weighed yourself, but take body measurements too.

    Take some food with you at work, in case nothing else "legal" is available.

    And water, water, water... have a bottle with you at work.

      Hi and welcome -- stay away from the shakes and bars (they are NOT legal on induction) - eat a variety of foods, get your fats, carbs and protein in daily, drink plenty of pure water (nothing added), take your supplements and exercise...it's really that easy. Read the 2002 DANDR book so you know what you’re doing.

      Drink a minimum of 64 ounces of water each day, including:
      Filtered water
      Mineral water
      Spring water
      Tap water

      Crystal Lite, sugar free teas, sodas, latte’s, smoothies – don’t count – PURE water is the only thing that counts toward your daily water intake. Now is the time to make changes – stop using these products. If you need a “flavor” in your water float a lemon or lime slice on top of your water

      Check the recipe sites also - they are very helpful and will help make your meals so much more enjoyable.

        Welcome to the ADBB! The support you will find here is invaluable ... just follow the plan as written and don't deviate and when you are feeling like you are getting sucked into the great sugar cyclone, post here. People understand, but it is best to come here and talk to others before you have a cheat. Best wishes to you!

            Thank you guys for the support! So i completed day 1. I had cheese eggs and bacon for breakfast and lunch, for a snack inbetween lunch and dinner i had a handful of almonds (dont know if thats legal) and for dinner had salmon and broccoli. By the end of the day i felt EXHAUSTED! i was super tired and every muscle on my body ached. I feel a little better today tho. This morning i am in ketosis and dropped 2 lbs aready!

            Height: 5'6
            7/2 - 163lbs
            7/3 - 161lbs
            Goal weight - 140lbs

              Well congratulations on that. You went into ketosis real fast. Good for you.

              Just a few thoughts about your first day:
              NO almonds - nuts can be introduced later but we stay away from them on induction. Nuts is a problem food for too many people.
              And you need 3 cups of veggies from the allowed list - preferably spread out over the day.

              But wow. That is great. Keep us posted.

                k got it, no almonds lol. It suprised me as well for getting into ketosis so quickly. i checked the ketosis stick this morning and it was light purple.
