    im confused. what are organ meats, and what exactly is 4 oz of it, i read in the book that it says not to eat more than 4 oz of organ meat a day. :confused

    wow, this was a bad thread title to read, considering the last thread I read was one about sex in the women's forum LOL

    Organ meat is like liver, heart, etc. You would weigh out 4oz. raw

      Yep, organ meat is liver, heart, gizzards, sweetbreads (pancreas, thymus), chitterlings (if you don't know what they are, don't ask), etc.

      I eat chicken liver and beef liver every so often: I think they're yummy if prepared the right way.

        Steam or boil chicken hearts, after they are cooked, mix them with sour cream, butter, salt and pepper, deliSH.

          Sorry....gotta ask...What are chitterlings....Im a cook by trade and havent heard of them.....I really hope they arent what I am thinking they are....do tell :confused

                Chitterlings are the intestinal lining of a pig. I have never had them but everyone of my inlaws loves them.
