my first day n already gone wrong i thought we could eat all meat s which we can as long as u make sure there no added ingrediants please help i have spent ages reading up on all the food n i obviously gone wrong some where i had sausages this morning but they had added ingredients so i have messed up already with my diet, is it all prossesed meats i have to watch out for or can i just check how many carbs are in them

Yes, usually the processed meats are the ones you should be careful with. If you buy raw chicken, pork, beef, turkey, lamb, fish, shellfish (not imitation crab or something, but "real" meat), then they should be fine. If there are ingredients listed, you should still check them though. It's a 30 sec thing.

I'm not sure I understand your question... But if a food contains "illegal" ingredients, then it is not allowed regardless of the number of carb it has per serving. As Dr. Atkins explained in "Dr. Atkins' New Diet Revolution" (2002), you should check the carb content as well as the list of ingredients.

It is really helpful to read the book. It explains everything in a logical fashion. Please understand that site follows a specific book, Dr. Atkins, New Diet Revolution 2002ed (DANDR2002). Other sites may not follow the same rules (same version of the plan) - so searching on the internet for how to "do Atkins" may be very confusing. Please consider reading the book - it will improve your understanding of the plan and therefore increase your chances of success! It is available at most bookshops & online.

Hi and welcome -- You were under the false understanding that we only eat meat....that is SO sad!!! We eat meat, cheese and veggies.....if you read the book you will understand what you are doing. You can get a copy, if not locally, on www.amazon.com or www.half.com - mine cost less than $5.00 with shipping. Stay away from the shakes and bars (they are NOT legal on induction) - eat a variety of foods, get your fats, carbs and protein in daily, drink plenty of pure water (nothing added), take your supplements and exercise...it's really that easy. Read the 2002 DANDR book so you know what you’re doing.

What are your statistics? How much do you have to loose, age, medications, etc.???
Post a few days of your menus so we can help get you going the right way.

Post often here, ask questions, read what the moderators and older members are talking about, they are the ones who know what is do -- some of the newer members think they do but unfortunately sometimes they aren't doing the right things also....

Check the stickies (information posts) at the top of this page http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-diet-14-day-induction/

Drink a minimum of 64 ounces of water each day, including:
          Filtered water
          Mineral water
          Spring water
          Tap water

Crystal Lite, sugar free teas, sodas, latte’s, smoothies – don’t count – PURE water is the only thing that counts toward your daily water intake. Now is the time to make changes – stop using these products. If you need a “flavor” in your water float a lemon or lime slice on top of your water

Check the recipe sites also - they are very helpful and will help make your meals so much more enjoyable.

I think leelouise meant that she thought all meats were induction legal, including all sausages (from another post), not that we could only eat meat

Oh - in case you haven't read Dr Atkins New Revolution (DANDR) and need to buy a copy I thought I'd mention that most charity shops in UK have a copy on their shelves for less than a quid
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
