I am not exactly sure what your looking for..but your menu looks ok ...but how are ever full? I wouldn't think that would be enough food. But if your full and its working the menu looks good to me.

Re: Please let me know what you think of my diet

Hi and thank you for your response. This was my diet for today and as this is one of my very first days, I just wanted to get a second pair of eyes to make sure I'm not eating anything I shouldn't.

I typically don't have eggs for dinner - usually substiute that for steak or chicken or pork - but otherwise it's all pretty much the same.

Actually, I forgot to mention that there is good amount of grilled chicken in my lunch. Accidentally left that out.

I'm not sure what 1 serving of cucumber, onion, etc is?

          A couple thoughts:
Yellow american cheese...is that processed cheese or cheddar? Processed cheese is not allowed on induction Check that processed meats (i.e. ham lunch meat) has no sugar (under any of its many names) or grains in the ingredients. Also check the salad dressing for sugar - most Ranch dressings have sugar. You should not eat any food unless all of the ingredients listed on the package are on the list of foods acceptable for induction, no matter how low the carbs

Thank you Julie - I didn't realize Ranch had sugar in it. What types of salad dressing are typically pretty safe?

            Thank you again!

Re: Please let me know what you think of my diet

I've picked up & put back every bottle of dressing in the store - with a couple exceptions I seem to be able to find ceasar dressing - no problem. Blue cheese seems to be available sugar-free as well as some italian-style ones. Every brand is different - just park yourself in that aisle, pick up each bottle & read the ingredients - only keep the ones where the ingredients are all legal

Here are a couple recipes for home-made dressings, I have only tried the Ranch so far - it tastes WAY better than store-bought, but doesn't keep as well:

              Sugar Free Ranch Dressing
              2 cloves garlic
              1/2 teaspoon salt
              1 cup homemade mayonnaise
1/4 cup sour cream ( could try buttermilk)
              2 tablespoons minced parsley
              2 tablespoons minced chives
              1 scallion, thinly sliced
              1 teaspoon white wine vinegar
              freshly ground black pepper

Mash the garlic and salt to a paste with the side of a chefs knife. In a medium bowl, whisk together the garlic, mayonnaise, buttermilk, parsley, chives, scallion, vinegar, and pepper to taste.
If the sauce is very thick, thin the dressing with a couple more tablespoons of the buttermilk. Use immediately or refrigerate, covered, for up to 2 weeks.
              Makes 1.5 cups

              Buttermilk Ranch Dressing
1 cup Buttermilk (sour cream for induction)
              1 cup mayonnaise
1/2 tsp. Accent (optional, it's MSG which adds flavor)
              1/2 tsp. onion flakes
              1/2 tsp. garlic salt
              1/2 tsp. pepper
              1/2 tsp. parsley flakes

Dump everything into the blender and blend well. Store in refrigerator. I keep some of it in a squeeze bottle. It's a little thin, but easy to squirt all over your salad. If you prefer plain, not buttermilk dressing, substitute sour cream for the buttermilk.

              Thousand Island Dressing
              1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 T. Heinz One-Carb Ketchup (or make Linda Sue's ketchup Linda's Low Carb Menus & Recipes)
              1 T. white vinegar
              1 T. Splenda
2 tsp dill pickle relish (ensure is sugar-free)
              1 tsp dried onion flakes
              1/8 tsp salt
              1 dash pepper

Combine all ingredients in a small bowl. Stir well. Place dressing in a covered container and refrigerate. Makes about 3/4 cup.

              Best Wishes,

Re: Please let me know what you think of my diet

Oil and vinegar (not Balsamic vinegar), blue cheese, Caesar are all good. Most Ranch is pretty low so don't overthing that one too much but the other choices are better.

The processed meats have much more sodium in them so that may cause the pounds to stick on in the form of water. Also your bacon bits need to be the real thing-not Bacos. Otherwise I think you are pretty good. Watch your onions-they have a lot more carbs than people realize. Overall you look good though. Nothing to really worry about--just a tweak here and there.

Jill, considering that I was using lunch meats as a snack - maybe i'll just substitue them for something else.

What types of snacks do you all prefer? II some more ideas!

                    Thanks again!

I like chopped celery mixed with mayo and maybe chopped red pepper as a filling snack.

I am new at this, so bare with me. At induction arent we only suppose to eat 2 cups of salad items if we eat one cup off of the other veggie list? So that would be tomatoes. How many cups are you eating if you have a salad at lunch with a serving of all those items, plus a smaller salad for dinner?
Please PLEASE correct me if i am wrong. I am still trying to get the hang of this.

Alot of people like devilled eggs as a snack - If I need a snack I usually have 1oz of cheese - although I find I don't need to snack very often.
