  • Again, some help. Not sure if I am doing this right :-(

I entered all food today into fitday.com.
I also entered into it what i am having for dinner.

This is the result. Are my numbers ok? I feel like my carbs are higher than what I remember it having to be when i first did this back in 03.

Is it due to them giving straight carb as opposed to net carb? Any help or advise would be great!!!!

Food: Amount / Calories / fat / carbs / prot
    Egg, whole, boiled: 5 large; 386 / 26.4/ 2.8/ 31.3
    Cucumber .5 cup; 7/ .1/ 1.3/ .4
    arugula 1 cup; 5 / .1/ .7/ .5
    pepper, red .5 cup; 19 / .2/ 4.5 / .7
    Egg, whole, boiled: 5 slices; 39 / 2.6/ .3 / 3.1
    bacon, cooked 1 cup/pieces; 433 / 33.4 / 1.1 / 29.6
    Chicken: 6 oz; 317 / 12.3 / 0 / 48.2
(3oz on salad; 3oz for dinner)
    Broccoli, steamed 1 cup: 103 / 5.1 / 13.2 / 4.4

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------
    totals 1308 / 80.4 / 23.9 / 118

    Is 23.9 the real number?!?

    Me again...

Your menu looks really good. You might want to up your fat a tiny bit (now it's 55%) to get somewhere close to 65%, which is what Dr. Atkins was recommending for Induction. Remember that it's the ratio of fat to carbohydrates that determines the ease to get into ketosis.

The carbs listed in FitDay are total carbs. Under "Carbohydrates", you have another entry with "Dietary Fiber". You need to subtract the dietary fiber from the total carbs to get net carbs. Net carbs are limited to not more than 20 g per day.

The Dietary Fibre doesn't show up in the grid..it is down below as a total for the day (This confused me a bit at first...)

Just want to chime in here, that 65% is really spot-on, I've played around a bit with my daily fat intake but it wasn't until I got into the low 60s that weight loss kicked in.
