  • A fat lady walked into a restaurant and said "Bring me cheese"...

Yes, I am that fat lady...BUT NOT FOR LONG IF I KEEP ORDERING THAT CHEESE. I started on induction yesterday. I have done Atkins on and off for 10 years. If I had stuck to it any length of time during that 10 years, I wouldn't be in the situation I'm in now.

In my teens and 20's, I dieted because I wanted to be svelte. I never WAS svelte, but that was my goal. Now, I just want to be healthy. I'm a 36 year old who feels like a 96 year old. My boys (7 and 9) deserve a mom with more energy, as does my new husband of 18 months. I no longer care about catching some guy's attention- now I just want to walk by that guy without huffing and puffing and sweating on him.

So, I'm ready to go with this for the first time in several years. Oh yes, I've tried a few times over the past years to start induction but by 6pm on the first day, I feel like some truck ran over me and my wimpy self quits. Induction really does hit me hard but I've determined I have no choice. I am so insulin resistant (due to PCOS) that nothing else works for me. I made it through yesterday and have made it through today. I have the headache and the feeling that I'm walking through sand but I haven't died yet, so I'm gonna keep going.

Good luck to all of you who are on the same journey! I look forward to getting healthy together!

Hi and welcome back Red -- Here is a little information I hope will refresh your memory and help get you going again. Stay away from the shakes and bars (they are NOT legal on induction) - eat a variety of foods, get your fats, carbs and protein in daily, drink 64 ounces of pure water (nothing added), take supplements and exercise. Check the STAC for additional support Second Time Around Club - Atkins Diet. We also have challenges for members to join, some are exercise related and some aren’t. Also start a journal and post your thoughts along the way.

Check the stickies (information posts) at the top of this page – it’s an easy way to answer questions you may have. http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-diet-14-day-induction/

Check the recipe sites also - they are very helpful and will help make your meals so much more enjoyable.

A big welcome to you.I have been on the diet around a year now and lost over 100lbs.Broke the diet on my bday 7th july and im back on induction(day 3).Induction is the time when you lose the most weight so hang in there and stick to all the rules and hopefully you will do well.
