  • Puzzling over some questions

Why is pure water superior to flavored water? It doesn't stay pure once it is in your stomach.

Aspartame has no carbs in it but Dr. Atkins says that sucralose is a better choice. Why is that? Sucralose has carbs in it.

    Thanks.

Aspartame does contain carbs, for just the same reason that Splenda does. Both contain maltodextrin and dextrose as a carrier for the tiny molecule of the chemical sweetener needed to make a serving.

Aspartame has caused stalls in many people. Dr. Atkins dealt with it many times in his medical practice. He got many people past a stall or plateau just by removing aspartame from their diet.

Actually, Splenda stalls many people as well, but at the time of the writing of Dr. A's last book, much more bad was known about aspartame.

Everyone would do better to stay away from the sweet taste until you are past cravings and addictions. Once you clean your palate, plain water and many veggies taste sweet to you.
People who say it can't be done, should not interrupt those doing it.
