I'm at work in the A/C and I'm freeeezing. My coworkers say it's just fine in here. Is this part of ketosis? I can't find anything.

Are you in Germany too? It's freezing here!
Yes, feeling cold might be a sign of ketosis, because the body is more efficient at using energy in lipolysis than in glucosis."Get action. Seize the moment. Man was never intended to become an oyster."

Re: I'm freezing! Is this part of ketosis??
It's a bit complicated. Some folks feel warm, others feel cold. There is no research done on this, because it's very difficult to interpret the effect food combinations have on how warm/cold one feels. There are however a few studies on the effect of one macronutrient (fat, carbs or protein) alone. What was found is that the thermic response depends on the type and amount of macronutrient X, and also on things like body weight, BMR, caloric intake and weight loss rate. What these studies focusing on only one macronutrient have also shown is that less energy is "wasted" in fat metabolism than in carbohydrate or protein metabolism. This is why feeling colder is sound. But you can see that there are so many variables in the equation and the balance is so delicate, that it's impossible to predict how warm or cold one is going to feel following a change in diet.Originally posted by Mstrubl View PostAre you drinking a lot of water like you're suppose to? I freeze also and can wear long sleeves comfortably right now (it was in the upper 80's today) I'd certainly be interested to know what the deal is also.
BTW, feeling cold is a good reason to do a few squats or push-ups, climb some stairs, go out for a brisk walk, etc. You can do all/some of these at work.

Maybe it's because I was drinking the ice water. Although my coworkers weren't cold...I'm for sure not generally drinking so much ice water.
If being cold is a side effect I'll happily deal with it---and yes getting up and walking around more is a very good idea. Thanks!
