Starting the Atkins on Mon, Need meal plan ideas!

  • Starting the Atkins on Mon, Need meal plan ideas!

    Hello everyone! I'm new to this, My name is Loraine and I just purchased the Atkins revised book. Hoping to get it by Monday. But if I don't I need some help on a few meal plans for Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Snacks. What are good Meal plans and please show Carb info as well. What foods could I have if I'm hungry that are 0 Carbs? Should I take any vitamins?

    I don't think we really have much for meal plans. We have a list of allowed foods and everyone who starts Atkins make their favourite things to eat based on those lists of whole foods. I liked to eat scrambled eggs and some veggies for breakfast. Not everyone will care for that

      What Liv said about menus. Check the acceptable foods list and prepare foods you would like to eat. There are many online tools that help you figure out the nutritional info of different foods or recipes. There is some info about FitDay in the "Atkins Induction FAQs" thread on top of this forum. If you try to figure out the nutritional info for some recipe, an alternative is nutritiondata.com.

      If you are hungry you can have anything from the acceptable foods list, whether it's 0 carbs or not. If you have veggies left from your required daily 3 cups, then you can have veggies with some fat and protein (e.g. celery/kohlrabi sticks with cream cheese). If you are done with your veggies or don't want to eat any at that time, then you can have low carb allowed foods such as cheese cubes/wedges, tuna salad, boiled eggs, etc.

      You should take a multivitamin. Dr. Atkins recommended one without iron, because many foods on the acceptable foods list are iron-rich. But you should see your doctor and check if you need additional iron in your diet or additional supplements.

          Hope your copy arrives today and good luck with getting going on this WOL i tried to start a couple weeks ago but failed (my own doing) starting again Monday 13th

            I enjoy scrabbled eggs and spinach for breakfast.

            chicken salads for lunch (will allowed salads)

            Meats for evening meal.
