  • Nice waiter

I had lunch in a restaurant today and was concerned about keeping to induction. I told the waiter that I was on a low carb diet and he lit up and said that he was too, although it was South Beach.

He answered my questions about ingredients and helped me customize my order. He talked a lot about how much better he was feeling after having been on South Beach (different but still low carb) for a year.

Of course, he got a generous tip.

Awesome! I've heard alot about great restaurant experiences - really helpful people! I've found when I order "no potato", most waiters offer me "double veggies" instead. Its bean easier than I thought it would (not that I eat out much anymore).

Eating out is so much easier since more people are on low carb plans. I'm sure you'll be going back to that restaurant!

I ate at Cracker Barrel last Friday and was pleasantly surprised to see they had a whole page in the menu of low carb meals...

So then my brilliant waitress put croutons all over my bacon/turkey salad... Had to explain to her that I don't think they are on the list of ingredients...

Aw I'm so happy to hear that - when I go out I tell the waiters that I'm on low carb and they are most of the time happy to suggest options for me - people are as understanding and willing to help you enjoy your food experience - Its a new era

A steak & veggies (hold the potato) or a salad with chicken on it are my usual choices. Unbreaded fish with veggies is also a good option

Yeah...Don't you love it when they do that?? rofl I ordered a low carb meal on my local restaurants menu...it was a hamburger steak with sauteed mushrooms and a salad on the side. Well, I am still not sure if they mix flour in their meat, she never did find out for me and the salad came with carrots and croutons all over it! Happy picking! rofl

I find that most waitresses/waiters are decent enough about my restrictions but once in a while I get the "each to their sweetie" remark with a tone that says that she thinks I am fat because of the steak I ate! Oh well...for the most part I get halfway decent help from the help.

Waiting staff with that attitude discover they don't get a tip at the end of the meal plus I make a point of telling either them (or their supervisor/boss if they were particularly unpleasant) the reason why

Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
