  • If you are HUNGRY....

    ...then eat!!

This is my third time on this WOL. I started for the third time last week and did everything textbook. I barely lost weight. I was also exercising. Note: I decided that I would cut off eating at 4:00 pm. The problem was that I would workout around 2:30 pm and ate very very little. As a result, my body started storing fat/calories. I decided to stop punishing my self by being HUNGRY. I have read many many threads were sucessful atkineers are eating many mini meals through out the day. Sooooo, now whenever I get hungry or feel that I have no energy I grab a jello and/or veggie to nibble on. Well guess what!! The scale is now rockin and a rollin for the first time in 3 years. The weight is coming off!!! I have decided not to watch the scale so much going forward.

Also, my mind set is finally correct!! I am not doing this to impress another person, or an event, or for fashion. I am doing this because I want the best life possible [spiritually, emotionally and physically]. I want to be healthy. I just lost Mom to cancer last September. I am making sure that I take care of me. After, seeing many patients in the hospital fighting for their lives. I said to myself, "how dare me not to embrace the Blessings that God has given me" by simply showing Him that I am grateful by being healthy and appreciating my body and soul!!!

Again, I tell you....eat if you are HUNGRY [tiny meals throughout the day]. This kicked my metabolism into fat burning mode.

I just made a rather large omelete. I ate half and am saving the other half for a snack later.

    Be Blessed all!!

    Re: If you are HUNGRY....

Thanks for letting us know. And it is a very important message here. We often see people come here to get help as they are not losing and then it turns out the problem is that they are not eating enough. So glad you figured it out.
Those jellos can be a problem for some people as they are sweetened with aspartame and that would be a staller for some. (Also limit of three sweeteners a day) But it is working out for you.
Great that you have decided to take care of yourself.

Ohhhhhhh...okay. I am tossing out the Jello. I will find something else Atkins friendly to snack on. Thanks very much for the "heads up"!

      I LOVE THIS BOARD!!!!!

        Re: If you are HUNGRY....

Snack-wise, maybe try some cheese [watch the portions, though!]. Or perhaps a lettuce leaf, rolled up with mayo or something similar? Both things are pretty easy to carry around for a sudden "attack of the munchies", as my dad puts it, and induction friendly [provided, of course, you don't overdo it!]. Do be aware that cheese stalls some people, but even if it does, the lettuce should be fine,a nd a great way to get your veg in

I so agree - eat if you are hungry!
I find that I see a drop on the scale the day after a very hungry day. It's what I see on the board "eat if you are hungry!" It really does the trick! I love mini meals myself. I think it keeps me from being overly hungry at mealtime...

I did the same thing last night, made a spanish omelette and it was bigger than I thought so I saved the rest for today.
