  • Figuring out Metabolic Resistance???

Hey guys. I have a question. I started Induction on July 11th, so my 2 weeks will be coming to an end on Friday. I have remained 161.4- 162.2 since Saturday. I have also not lost any inches.
I def. am not hungry, i actually find it hard to eat 3 times a day. In the AM i usually have a stick of Colby Jack, two hard boiled eggs. (or Crustless Quiche from DANDR)
Lunch i have a 1 cup argula and spinach salad (my fave. lettuce and spinach
with 1/2 cup peppers, 8 grape tomatoes, grilled chicken and 2g a tbsp ranch dressing.
Dinner i either have eggs with sausage, or grilled chicken with a smaller salad (1 cup argula with 8 grape tomates) same dressing and 1 oz of shredded cheese.

I walk 1.5 miles a day, i try to go to the gym during lunch 3x a week - walk for 25 min or do the elliptical for 15 (1 mile)

Anyways- This morning my "friend" came to visit. I heard that this TOM could stall WL. Is this most likely my stall, or is it the food i eat? Also, If TOM is my Stall, how do i accurately calculate my Metabolic Resistance, if im stalled my last week of induction???

    Thanks in advance.

    Re: Figuring out Metabolic Resistance???

This Saturday? If it's this Saturday, then it's perfectly okay if you haven't lost any weight or inches in 2-3 days. It's probably not even TOM-related. And you're certainly not stalled or won't become stalled this week. A stall is defined as 4 consecutive weeks without any weight loss or loss of inches. Semantics, I know...

I see you've lost 8-9 lbs until now and you have 60 lbs to lose. This puts you at an below-average degree of metabolic resistance. It could be average or low. There is nothing you can do about TOM, but considering your resistance (based on what you've lost until now) you should move to OWL after the first two weeks. It will be difficult to approximate your CCLL before starting OWL, but that shouldn't cause any problems as long as you follow OWL correctly.

Are you saying you haven't lost any inches since you started or just since Saturday?

I agree 100% with Georgiana. Given how much you have lost, you're already at the Average Metabolic resistance. If you hit 12lbs by Friday, you are considered to have a low metabolic resistance. (pg. 158 DANDR) Lucky you!!!

Give it a few days and re-measure on Friday. I gain inches and weight when I bloat from TOM, but the inches and weight come off as fast as they came, and then some.

Hang in there. Remember this won't happen over night. If you're concerned about your menus, you could post them in that forum. There are folks who have eagle eyes and would be a great help if you are concerned. LOL

Congrats on the weight loss so far AND getting that exercise in. You are doing fantastic!
