  • Smoothhhhh Induction! :)

Hi All! I will be beginning my 6th day of atkins starting tomorrow. So far, I'm lovin' it! This lifestyle change I can tell is going to be a great one. I have lost 10lbs so far. I'm wondering how normal this is. I'm assuming it's water weight which is totally fine, but I've noticed others have lost less with the 2 weeks combined. Will this next week of induction mean less weight dropped (again, totally fine)???

I was considering staying on induction for 2 extra weeks. Just so I'm 100% certain I have broken my terrible eating habits in the past. I've been having mixed comments about this. Many feel I should move to OWL to introduce new foods, but I really want this change to stick with me forever. I'm scared. Thoughts?

Also, if anyone has in recipes to share that would be amazing. I made a low carb version of "chicken alfredo" on lettuce greens today and it was awesome!

    Have a great day!

    Re: Smoothhhhh Induction!

Hi Midwestgirl, Congratulatinos on your success so far. There doesn't really seem to be a "normal" figure for induction weight loss. 10% seems to be fairly average (though of course even that is all over the place) so it really depends on how much weight yu have to lose.

I'm in the "move on to OWL" group for the most part. Unless someone has a LOT to lose, or they are having troubles losing on induction there is really no reason to not move on to OWL, as Dr. Atkins planned. In fact in my experience people who stay on induction for longer then necessary tend to do worse in the long run simply because they either get bored with their induction foods and stray just that little bit that sends them off the path, or they get too close to their weight loss goal and don't have time to properly slowly add in the foods of OWL to really keep track of what may or may not give them cravings.

That's my two cents anyway. Best of luck to you in your journey to good health.
