Hello! I just bought a bag of fresh "sweet" pork sausage at the grocery store. There are no "no-no's" list in the ingredients just pork and some spices. I'm wondering if this is a good purchase? When I added it in to fitday it was almost 4 carbs. I had about 1/2 of a cup with my eggs this morning... could some convert this to oz. for me? (I think maybe it's 4 oz.) ORRRRRRR should I hold off on the sweet sausage???

Re: Sweet Pork Sausage
If there are only pork & spices, there won't be 4 carbs. How many carbs are listed in the nutritional information on the package (include serving size)? If you've added a 'typical' sweet sausage in Fitday, it is likely assuming that there ARE no-nos in the ingredients (like fillers & sugar) and counting the carbs for it. You can create a custom food in Fitday for the sausages that you bought.Julie__________________F/37/5'2"__________________Start April 15, 2009

If this stuff has 4 carbs, then it probably contains "no-no's"Originally posted by midwestgirl View PostHello! I just bought a bag of fresh "sweet" pork sausage at the grocery store. Post the ingredients list of this product please. So that we can look at it and see what's up with it.~Megs~

Re: Sweet Pork Sausage
Also, did you enter it as a custom food in FitDay (with the nutritional info on the label) or did you just use the usual FitDay entry for sausages?Originally posted by midwestgirl View PostHello! I don't know what 1/2 cup of sausage is in oz (depends what sausage you had, how you cut it), but first make a custom food entry in FitDay. You probably know how many links you had or how much of the whole quantity you bought... and you know the nutritional info for a link or whatever a serving size of sausage is... so you should be able to figure out the nutritional info for the amount you ate.
If you don't have nutritional info for the stuff you bought (though you should have since you know the ingredients --- so there is a label), I'd guess 1/2 cup of sausage is roughly 50 grams (1.8 oz)."Get action. Seize the moment. Man was never intended to become an oyster."
