  • A sugar question...

I'm wondering how we are supposed to avoid sugar in food with natural sugars. For example, I've been looking for sugar free salsa, but realized the other day that tomatoes naturally have sugar, so it wouldn't be possible to have sugar free salsa. My TJ's salsa has 1g of sugar.

What do you do when you run into this? Is it ok for something like that to have 1 or 2g's of naturally occurring sugar?

I am down 13 lbs, but for my starting weight that seems kind of slow, so I am looking for possible solutions to that.

You don't have to avoid naturally occuring sugars, just added sugar. Check the ingredient list on anything you buy - there should be no sugar (of any kind) listed. Don't go by the sugars listed on the nutritional label under Carbohydrates.
