  • Prolonging induction...can I?

Hi to you all...I d once again like to say how great of a support each and everyone of you has been to me.
I ve been struggling with my weight for years and years, and didnt even thought of going on a diet, but reading all your stories has been incredibly motivating to me, so I m proud to say that today is my 28 th day of Atkins (still doing the Induction, i ve got used to it, and have no trouble at all (by now) )
So my question is: Is it safe? I ve lost arround 20 pounds by now, (10kg) It sounds much, but I acctualy have a lot to loose ( my goal is 60 pounds -30kgr to get to my perfect weight) and plus I loose weight quickly with any diet... So? Can I continue with my Induction, and for how long would it be optimal? Thank you all again

If you ahve already lost a third of the weight you need to already I would suggest it is now time to start the main weightloss phase of Atkins - ongoing weight loss (OWL).

This will allow you to discover how many more carbs you can eat and still lose weight and if any foods upset your body as you move through the levels/rungs of the OWL carbohydrate ladder.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

The OWL rungs teach you how to do this for life...many people say maintenance is the hardest part of any diet. I would move up the rungs now. This does not necessarily mean that you will lose more slowly, I'm still losing at a very good rate

I agree..it is time to move on up the ladder so you can learn about your body. Don't be scared...the first step is just more veggies. You will still continue to lose if you follow the guidelines in the book.
