  • Just checking if I did ok when I went out...

    ...Okay...Hubby loves to go out to eat...he grew up out in a village where restaurants seriously do not exist...so that is like one of his favorite things to do...even if it means just to a fast food place.

    Sooo ...he wanted to go to Wendy's to eat tonight...I gave in...this is what I ordered...

    Triple cheese burger with no ketchup & no bun...they served it nicely in a container with a fork and knife. It had a few tiny pieces of onion, 1 slice tomato, and a piece of lettuce. Instead of fries, I ordered a side caesar salad with no croutons and I checked the dressing and it had only one carb. The salad had some sprinkling of bacon and some shredded parmesan cheese.

    So how did i do? ok? I know the cheese was likely american/processed and not good...but it sure made the meat more edible...next time I can order it without if needed. But I felt proud of myself for sticking to my diet as much as possible and not cheating...I think I got the best meal of all and was more satisfied...hubby ordered their new asian spicy & hot boneless chicken wings and he said it soooo was not worth it! he wished he ordered like me...I wonder how many times he will say that before he actually does it??? ROFL

    Good for you for staying on plan! I'm not sure if the bacon bits they use in the salad are from real bacon or the fake stuff, but other than that (and the cheese)... it looks good to me.

      I think you probably did OK.
      But to verify you can go to their website
      Nutrition Facts & Personalize It - Wendy's
      You can choose the menu item then click on 'personalise' and remove the parts you didn't eat to get the nutrition info for what you had!

        I think that given where you were, you made good choices! Good for you

        Alot of the restaurants have their nutritional info & menu online now, if I know where I'm going to be eating, I try to check before I go. Then I know what is safe to order Sometimes that isn't practical though...

          You know what sometimes work - making those revolution rolls (or oopsie rolls) - bring and order one of those baconator burgers. It is very good actually.

          I have learned that almost all restaurants (the non fast food ones) that I go to will be more than happy to give some veggies when I tell them I do not eat starches.

            Thanks everyone!!! Pretty happy with myself for being so strong when in the past I would have been weak! I hope that I keep strong this way....I know its not good to eat like that all of the time but occasionally its good to know that i do have options wherever i go...cept maybe for taco bell, haven't figured out anything for them yet rofl :P

              Okay, I checked the website and it looks like 11 carbs for the meal...some from cheese, mayo, onion, lettuce, pickles and then some from the salad and dressing. It counts out as 10 but they show 11 at the end of it and thats likely due to rounding up half carbs and such. But with the fiber coming in at 3 that drops my net carbs to 8 for meal! hehe Thanks for the link...
