I have been on induction for five days and lost five pounds already. Im happy with my success so far but I feel terrible! For the past few days, I have a sore throat, i'm congested, and have bad muscle aches and headaches. I know this is normal for starting Atkins, and that it should go away after the first week, but is it normal to feel this sick?

Re: "induction flu"
Usually when people talk about "induction flu", they just mean the sluggish, weak feelings for the first several days. Sore throat, congestion, and aches sounds like the real thing to me! I'm not sure if Theraflu has added sugar or not...might want to just take some extra vitamin-c. I hope you feel better soon!

Re: "induction flu"
What you have is a real flu, Sarah. Better see your doctor.

Re: "induction flu"
I felt really terrible too. For the first four days I was very tired, week at some points, headache and diarrhea. I forced myself to work out anyway, my performance was way under par though. Suddenly on the evening on the forth day I almost felt normal. Day five I had energy again and only periods throughout the day off headaches and slight weekness. There is an end to it all. Probabaly somewhere within the first week.
