  • Help! I gained 2 lbs???

    Hi everyone!

I've been steadily losing the past 6 days, I weighed myself this morning and I'm up 2 lbs! I didn't eat anything strange, my menu stayed the same yesterday:

    Breakfast:
2 fried eggs, 2 strips bacon

    Lunch:
1 cup salad with oil and vinegar and 1 tsp fresh shredded parmesan
1 fillet of tilapia marinated in olive oil and spices

    Dinner:
1 hamburger patty, 1 piece of lettuce, 2 tomato slices and 1 tsp. mayo (bbq with friends, ate what I was allowed)

    6 glasses of water

    Where did I go wrong?

It is normal to have some ups and down - do not panic. This happens to all of us. It may be hormones - water retention - just something. Keep doing everything right and it will sort itself out.
Don't forget to eat enough to keep yourself satisfied
And you should think about cutting out the balsamic vinegar if you have trouble.

    Hang in there.

Weight loss is not linear. This was written a while ago, but it is true.

Oops, I made a mistake. In your "Review My Menu" thread, I thought the balsamic vinegar was on the salad you had at the restaurant, not that you are using it on a regular basis. Balsamic vinegar is not allowed, even if you are still in ketosis while consuming it. You want to make your 2-week Induction as "clean" as possible, so that at the end of the 14-days you are able to determine your degree of metabolic resistance and decide what your next steps in the diet are going to be.

Not drinking enough water (you need eight 8-oz glasses per day) can cause water retention. You said you had BBQ... Was this outside? Spending more time in the sun can also make you retain some water.

In any case, as the others have said, don't expect to lose weight every day. If the number on the scale upsets you, better weigh only once a week or at the end of Induction. And take body measurements too.

p 374 ofDANDR Avoid balsamic vinegar, which contaings sugar.
I don't see where you listed that though.

And yes...up your water intake to MINIMUM eight glasses a day. And please add one more cup of veggies. 2 cups salad veggies (remember this need not nor should be just lettuce) and 1 cup other. It does make a difference.

So much can affect our weight...maybe your sodium was high...maybe it was too hot...not enough water...TOM...maybe the meat had bread crumbs in it. You got to read the labels...ingredients as well...did you know that if it reads 100% beef on the boxtop that if may still contain breadcrumbs if you read the ingredients...it just means they used all beef...tricky people.

If you are negatively affected with daily weigh ins...don't do them. It can send some people right off the diet. Limit your weigh ins to weekly or monthly and take your measurements and try on a pair of pants that are a bit too tight to use as your gauge.

            Stay strong!!
