So I was feally a bit dehydrated and thought a powerade would help. I really thought I grabbed the Powerade Zero but accidentally purchased the regular powerade and drank at least one serving before I realized. Luckily it is less sugar than gatorade but still contains 15 carbs. Whoops. How is this going to set me back? I proably have had now about 30 carbs today, and I will just have meat for dinner. I have been exercising too. Not too bad right?

Re: Whoops wrong powerade
You should eat a regular meal and wait to see what happens -- probably not much -- instead of powerade try drinking pure water or water with lemon, lime or cucumber slices floating in it.
Here is what I could find for ingredients in Powerade Zero:
Water, natural flavors, citric acid, salt, potassium citrate, sucralose, sodium citrate, potassium phosphate, ascesulfame potassium, red 40, niacinamide (vitamin B3), pyridoxine, hydrochloride (vitamin B6), cyanocobalamn (vitamin B12).
This wouldn't be counted toward your 64 oz water total for the day.Carole_____________________May Water 130oz daily

LOL! Most of us have done this. Induction is new and has some pretty stringent rules. Carole has some good suggestions. For now, stick to water.Originally posted by CC ya ya View PostSo I was feally a bit dehydrated and thought a powerade would help. Re: Whoops wrong powerade
Other than that it is going great. Since I kinda blew it on my carbs today I splurged a little and had some corn on the cob and some peanut butter. I will not worry about keto testing untill atleast tomorrow afternoon after I burn through all the carbs. I am planning on a good hard workout in the morning so I do not feel too bad about it. I have lost about 5 lbs so far in seven days so even if I gained back a pound today that would be a great start. I just hope it doesn't take me three days to get back into ketosis. Anyone know about that?

The powerade may not have done too much damage but the corn & PB too???
Kind of reminds me of something I read: "If you fell down the stairs would you get up and throw yourself down again?" It's usually best to just continue on your plan after a slip, not add to it.
Sorry to be a buzzkill but not only may it take a few days to get back into ketosis, you may experience those crappy feelings you worked so hard to get through the first time.

Re: Whoops wrong powerade
Mizski is right
falling for that old trick the brain tries on us of "You have blown it now so we might as well eat . . . . . (insert carby favourites here)" is what trips people up more often than just eating one thing off plan.
Try to make the very next bite on-plan if you do make a mistake and before too long you will find those mistakes happen less and less.Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Just to give you a refresher -- please read these 2 threads:
What foods can be eaten on Induction? [Elleth Faewen] This are the ONLY foods you should be eating while on induction. Corn on the cob and peanut butter aren't on this list.
