Depo can quite possibly interfere with weight loss as can any hormone treatment.

There are always condoms. Or get fixed. For men it's a lot easier than women but it is definitely a permanent solution.

Or spermacide or IUD(which are much safer than those from the 70's) Lots of ways to stay safe without hormones. Call planned parenthood to discuss options.

have u ever tried the patch? it's easier than a pill, it only needs to be changed once a week and if u don't like it it can be removed immediately unlike depo u have to wait what 3 months?? just an idea , i need to consider a method for bc as well i have a 11 wk old and i am DONE !!

Another option is the Nuva Ring. You pop one in and forget it! You can either keep it in 3 weeks and go 1 week free during your period or keep in 4 weeks and replace with a new one. You should only spot doing it this way so my NP told me. I'm brand new to this method but I can tell you not having to remember my pill each day has been great. You also do not even know it is there. Get HUBBY fixed, not you. It's much easier on the men, even though THEY don't think so.

The way I figure it, I lovingly 'housed', nurtured, sheltered, labored and birthed our 3 children; two of which were EACH 2 weeks late, 2 natural births and the last being an emergency C-section. I puked for approximately 25 months between the 3 of them, including throwing up in a drive-thru bank, of which the bank wasn't even MY bank.

I figured it was HIS turn. :guns

This is an absolute 100% true story. I finally convince hubby that if he ever wanted to enjoy the sexual pleasures of marriage again, he'd go get 'clipped'. I get him in there, he's unbelieveably nervous, to say the least. He's all clipped, and they tell me that I can go in and see him in recovery. He's a bit groggy, but he's cursing up a storm, saying, "You OWE ME! You OWE ME SOOOO BIG!"

I'm thinkin, "He's still half-drugged, how can he be in pain (yet?) He is soon finally able to tell me that right before they put him 'out', the attending nurse asked him if he lived in (the name of our town, and the name of our street)....he said, "Yes, why?" She said, "OMG, I know you! You live down the street at the far end, in the cul-de-sac! I've seen you out mowing your lawn and stuff!" :yikes

He said that he nearly DIED of embarassment, right there on the table. LOL

As you might guess, I was able to offer NO condolences to hubby....I was laughing too hard! LOL! :tounge

I've been on the pill this whole time and I'm losing pounds. it can be kind of a pain taking a pill a day, but I've been doing it for over 4 years now and haven't had a single problem. Talk with your doctor about birth control that is low in estrogen.

Also remember, it doesn't matter if it is the patch, pill, or injection, they re still hormones and they tend alter weight loss :raving

i have currently been using the nuva ring and i have to say it has been the best thing i have tried even when i wasnt lcarbing it didnt make me gain any weight now the depo i will never go back to again but the nuva ring hasnt effected my weightloss at all just need to remember to take it out

they make condoms out of things other then latex
