  • Ugh!!! What gives?

Alright by now I'm really getting upset!
First 7 days I lost 5 lbs. Now I'm exercising and eating properly drink lots of water.....so why have I gained all the weight back? Am I eating to much fat too much protein? I know I'm not eating too many carbs
2hard boiled eggs for breakfast with 2 strips of bacon
    salmon with mayo for lunch
4 oz steak with a garden salad for dinner..lettuce grn pepper and grn onion with some ranch dressing at .5 carbs.
I am drinking water like mad and doing all the right things on day 10 why am I gaining and becomming super bloated? :-(

Deep breath. It's normal to gain weight some times, although it does . If I get this right, you are feeling bloated, so you are most likely retaining water (read, not fat!). You don't eat a lot of processed foods, but do you add a bunch of salt on your cooked food? Or are you around TOM?

This should have nothing to do with your water retention, but try to spread your veggies throughout the day instead of eating them all for dinner.

Are you entering your foods in FitDay? Can you tell me your totals from there?

Okay, I went through your other posts.

You say you are constipated. That is probably the reason why you feel bloated. Eat veggies higher in fiber and take a fiber supplement (flaxseed meal, psyllium husks or wheat bran). You need a lot of water with the fiber supplement or it will only make things worse. Constipation is also why you have gained weight, because you are weighing yourself and.... umm.... Mr. Poo.

You also say you are doing Slim in 6 and jogging. Your muscles could be retaining some water. Just keep exercising and the problem should go away. Exercise also helps with constipation.

If you spent more time outside in the heat, that could also cause water retention.

        Re: Ugh!!! What gives?

Looks like you need to eat more veggies. 2 cups from the salad veggie list & 1 cup from the other veggie list. Try to spread your veggies out during the day. The additional fiber may very well resolve your constipation issue.

        Good luck!

            Thanks for your responses everyone.
I don't add any salt to my food and never have, however, it's very possible that the foods are high in sodium. I am still backed up..lol it embarrising to talk about. And I probably haven't been eating enough fiber. I use fit day and will post my daily levels for revue.
            Thanks again.

Spreading my veggies out throughout the day seems to help with that...umm...problem! Can you add some veggies to breakfast? Also the fiber supplements G mentioned are great. Good luck!

                Re: Ugh!!! What gives?

Sure you can have veggies with breakfast! Some people eat salad for breakfast. I make crustless quiche & freeze for week-days since I'm too lazy/rushed to cook much in the mornings - I always put veggies in it You could also saute some mushrooms/onions/peppers if you are frying eggs or have an omelette with veggies.

                  Re: Ugh!!! What gives?

I get veggies in at breakfast by adding peppers and onion to my omelets -- sometimes I saute them and other times I just add them at the end so they are crunchier. I make sure to get veggies in each meal and inbetween meals if I need something I have veggies.

                    Re: Ugh!!! What gives?

Sorry Julie...I was suggesting that Jules add veggies to her breakfast!

I hardly ever eat "breakfast food" for breakfast. Usually I have a steak or chicken breast with raw veggies (celery, cucumber, tomatoes). I really helps me stay regular.
