  • Need Camping Induction food ideas!

Were going camping over the weekend and I need ideas to keep me away from the boundless bad snacks that will be around.

I am going to hard boil some eggs to take for quick snacks and/or breakfast.

I could use some of your brilliant ideas!!!

I'm glad you posted this as I was thinking about the same thing! I'm planning on bringing a cooler to everything as fresh as possible since so many Atkins inductions foods are perishable. So... eggs of course, different cheeses, both sliced and individual packaged, sandwich meats, bacon and sausage to cook, pickles, pork rinds, pepperoni and maybe some easy veggies. Let me know if you come up with anything else! My daughter asked me if I was going to have s'mores on the camping trip! AHHH! Lol, we're planning to go Thursday or Friday night.
Lia with DH Mark along for the ride in Alaska!

      Hiya Hon
      We love camping. Such fun...
We take a few disposable bbqs that are hot and ready to cook quite quickly.. So I throw on some meat (chicken, kebabs ect ect).. and I just pick and eat at these.
For brekkie, scrambled egg, bacon, fried mushrooms and tomatos (we also take a single portable gas hob)
Also, you can take/make your own coleslaw, with onion and cabbage and mayo (maybe a few tiny grated slices of carrots - although they are not really permitted on induction).
Pork Scratchings or dried meat to snack on too.
      and a low carb salad.

OH! Porkrinds and pepperoni! How could I have forgotten those! Id better make a list!

I will definatly have a grill and stove to cook on, and for me those meals wont be hard to come up with ideas. Its the "snacky" stuff on the go that I have trouble with.

GuideLines - Thinking Beyond Camp Gruel

That's a good site for how to prepare your foods for camping - I remember doing some of that stuff (j-cloths and wax particularly) when I was doing Girl Guide camping as a teenager.

          Mini Goals:
          Goal 1 - 10% (September 13th, 2009)
          Goal 2 - Pre-Pregnancy Weight with 2nd Child (September 27th, 2009)
          Goal 3 - 50 lbs down (December 1st, 2009)
          Goal 4 - Highest Pregnancy Weight with 1st right before c-section (February 20, 2010)
Goal 5 - Lowest weight reached on WW after having 1st child
          Goal 6 - 100 lbs down
          Goal 7 - Pre-pregnancy weight with 1st
Goal 8 - Weight I met my husband
          Goal 9 - 150 lbs down
          Goal 10 - Weight in Grade 8
          Goal 11 - Weight in Grade 6
