  • Hello again, I am back properly this time!!!

    Some of you may remember me, I have posted several times determind to stick with the plan but failing everytime. Well for the past 5 mths I have been doing slimming world, I no, I no, lol. I have actually stuck to it 110%, never cheating and I have lost 35lb. But recently I have been doing what is called the Green Days where you can eat as much pasta, rice & potatoes etc as you like and my losses have not been too great even tho i've been sticking to it. Ive been thinking about all the carbs and sugar I am eating and I no it isnt doing me any favours. These so called low fat products are loaded with sugar, I was shocked when I looked at one of my virtually fat free yogurts. Well after some thought i decided to go for Atkins. The differnce this time being that I have the determination and motivation now. I have dropped 2 dress sizes and I do not want to go up again. And I feel fitter than I have in ages. I do not want to be where I was.

    So for the 20th time, lol, can I rely on your encouragement, help, advice and support, pretty please

    BTW I have started this lunch time as I had Slimming World breakie as I was still undecided what to do, then after talking to my brother I decided to start this lunchtime and not count my breakie.

    Hi and welcome back to ADBB. I realize you know the following information from being here before, but since it has been some time and you've been on diets since you were here the last time you should refresh your memory so you can follow the plan correctly. Eat the proper foods, drink a minimum of 64oz PURE water (nothing added), exercise and take supplements -- if you do these things wholeheartedly you will succeed.

    We follow the 2002 Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution (DANDR) it would be a helpful for you to have a copy of the book to refer to. At the top of the induction page you’ll find a condensed version of the book -

    Make a copy of this list http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-low-carb-dieting-faqs/6781-what-foods-can-eaten-induction.html and take it with you when you go to the store. If a food isn’t listed on the acceptable food list don’t eat it. Learn to read the label on all foods you buy - don’t just look at the “carb” number look at the ingredients list of everything and check the ingredients against your list. Just because it says "low carb" doesn't mean you can eat it. Also check for hidden sugars (learn the names used in place of the word “sugar”).

    The recipe sites are helpful for meal planning – just make sure you use Induction Recipes to begin with.

      Thanks Imagood1. Ive already got the book, so I waS able to refresh my memory. I always drink pure water as I agree this is best. Non of this "you can count your tea and diet poop nonsense, lol! Ive even got my copy of "Good calories, Bad calories" out again (never got past chapter one, it is a deep book). Ive watched one of his leactures he gives where he talks about where you can have one community thats not got alot of money and they eat practically the same things but you get slim people and very large people. Very interesting stuff! I shall be looking for some recipe ideas too. Im going to give it 110% and do it properly!

        Hiya hon
        Welcome back..

        Like you I'm an Atkinteer of proportion who comes back time and time again. WHY NOT???

        I've been on a mission to loose 100 lbs since November/december and have been going back and forth from atkins, weightwatchers, low cal.. ect ect. and everytime I start slowing down/stalling or getting bored I switch..
        Touch wood it seems to be working.. (63lbs down), and I get to enjoy all types of food..
