  • net carb intake equivelents?

hey! I'm starting the induction stage in the atkins diet and I don't quite get it. It says I have to limit my net carb intake to 20 carbs per day. Does this include fats (like cheese) and vegetables? What is 20 net carbs equivalent to?

    thanks.

I Will be just starting on the induction phase as well But yes I believe it is the sum of everything you eat that includes carbs like cheese, cream, splenda, meats and all that. I hope it helps. Hopefully later on today someone can give you more helpful info. Im a tad bit confused with the amount of vegetable we're allowed to help. DO you have the book yet??

The complete info about how to do Atkins as well as a list of the allowed foods for induction are in the chapter on induction in Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution (DANDR) and you will I am sure benefit from reading it to help you stick to the rules. However there are several good threads in the Atkins diet FAQ forum that you do need to read to avoid too many 'boo-boos'.
Start with the few with 'induction' in the subject title and then work your way through the others.
There is a printable 'wallet sized' list of the allowed induction foods in this forum at the top too, which many of us carried with us when we started to avoid wrong food decisions.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
