  • Stuck!

    Hi all,

    I joined here in January when i was 200lbs! I went down to 186 and then stopped! I started again however last Tuesday and after a week i am down to 176.6lbs..... and here is the but!

    I have stalled since Saturday on 176.6.... I havent touched sugar or carbs and am eating everything correctly - the only thing that i fear it may be is not enough veg!

    Im going to Gym and sweating like a swimming pool of water off but there is still no movement!

    Can anyone suggest ways to kick start it again? Im getting really demotivated and have a lack of interest now im continuing but need to loose weight!!!

    Resulting in serious mood swings! My sisters told me i was like a bull in a china shop since last week... i think its just down to frustraion at it not budging!

    Any help would be sooooo appreciated!

    You said you might not be getting enough veggies - are using a program like Fitday to see what your daily intake looks like? Perhaps post a typical day's menu for us to look at. Might also think about moving up to OWL. A lot of times the extra 5 carbs of veggies will kick your body out of a slump.

    My best advice is to be patient - a true stall as defined in the book is 4 weeks of no movement.

      I am new to Atkins, but nonetheless I can tell you that not loosing for a couple of days (even weeks) in normal. We are here because gain weight over many years, we cannot think to loose everything in a couple of months.

      And maybe you have your period, that can bloat you!

      You should not worry about that at all and keep focusing on eating according to the plan. Don't worry your balance will move again shortly!

        Breakfast - Scrambled Egg, Rashers and cheese

        Mid Morning Snack - Celery

        Lunch - Tuna mayo onion Salad

        Mid Afternoon Snack - Celery - Cheese

        Dinner - Chicken with peppers mozarella curry powder cream onion mushrooms bake - with broccoli.

        I dont drink have any caffiene. I also dont have any sweetners at all! As you can see im being pretty rigid in that i dont include anything that isnt allowed.

        Could tomatoes be my fall down included in the salad at lunch??

          Your menu looks okay. Are you eating 3 cups of vegetables, with not more than 1 cup from the "other" vegetables list? Are you getting about 65% of your calories from fat and 30% from protein? Are over half of your net carbs coming from veggies? Are you sticking to the limits for cheese and cream? If the answer to all these is "yes", then you are doing fine.

          It's normal not to lose weight for a few days, don't worry. Just focus on following Atkins correctly and the weight will start to come off again. Take body measurements too --- sometimes the scale is stubborn, although inches are still coming off.
