I only like eggs if they are hard boiled, which is fine but, I always take the Yolk out, is this bad? because I hate yolk and i heard yolk is like all cholesterol and the white is protein...so with me eating only the white, am i not getting the carbs from it?

Re: Egg Question
Atkins is a high fat diet (not high protein!) and during Induction you should get about 65% of your calories from fat and 30% from protein. It's the yolk where the fat and many of the nutrients are. Plus, most of the nutrients in the egg white cannot be absorbed if you do not eat the yolk too.Originally posted by Mbudlite89 View PostI only like eggs if they are hard boiled, which is fine but, I always take the Yolk out, is this bad?
The cholesterol scare came from experiments done with dry eggs, not with real eggs. Dry eggs do indeed raise cholesterol. Plus, if you are not consuming cholesterol from foods, your body produces cholesterol to compensate.because I hate yolk and i heard yolk is like all cholesterol
BTW, foods high in fat are often high in cholesterol.
The white is not only protein. It has carbs too. In one large egg yolk there is 0.6 carbs; in one large egg white, there is 0.2 carbs.and the white is protein... so with me eating only the white, am i not getting the carbs from it?"Get action. Re: Egg Question
Eggs are very healthy little things.
Sure try out things. But if you really cannot stand it...
Hollandaise sauce - is pretty yummy. Egg cream is one of my favorites.
