...starts today. And tomorrow. And the next day. I digress.
Yesterday was my last day of Induction. As of Friday, I had lost a total of 15 lbs (disregard the ticker, I haven't updated it yet).
I also treated myself to what I wanted at the end of the two weeks. A nice juicy sirloin strip steak. I smothered it in sauteed mushrooms, peppers, and eggplant (which I have never had until last night, but I didn't even taste it because of it being mixed with everything else), and sprinkled grated cheddar on top.
It was DELICIOUS!
So - now that I'm on Rung 1 - anybody have any tips or words of wisdom? I've read all the stickies, read the book, etc. Just wanted to know if there's anything I'm missing, or great ideas about adding in that extra 5 carbs. I remember one of you mentioning adding sauteed onions to my meat in a cream sauce or something along those lines - I'll have to try it, it sounds yummy.
Because I'm actually making an effort in cooking food, my family is really enjoying the benefits, and have now even got their "Favourites" and are requesting stuff we had only two weeks ago. I managed to convert my father into thinking that cauliflower isn't as bad as he thought it was by making Mock Spanish Rice. Actually, his specific words were, "It was Fantastic!" He doesn't like cauliflower on it's own, but wow when cooked right, it was great!!
Anyway - I'm off to do some menu planning. I want to make sure my new Lifestyle changes will actually be for a lifetime.
Oh - btw - I notice that the OWL group isn't very active on here...is there a reason for that? I would have assumed more people would be in OWL then the 14 day Induction...
