  • Volume vs Weight Zucchini

    I want to make Elizellen's
Baked Zucchini. I can have 1 c of zucchini, but what does that equal if I want to weigh the zucchini? How many ounces can I have.

I saw a post of conversions somewhere on the ADBB, but I truly could not understand it...must be my declining age...LOL.

    Re: Volume vs Weight Zucchini

This is the thread. It lists only summer squash (which zucchini is)

According to this one cup is 124 gr = 4,4 oz

I would just stuff some zucchini in a cup and weigh it? Then you'd know for sure.

Hi Liv, yes that is the link I have but like I said I found it very confusing.
I understand that 1 cup = 124 g, (which I can convert into ounces myself) but what does "4,4" mean?

And I won't get a true reading of putting it into a measuring cup because of how I have it sliced, and there is so much leftover "space". And since Zucchini is more restricted in amounts I want to make sure I get all I can get, without going over. Therefore weighing is more accurate.

Thanks Liv. I am trying to be as accurate as possible to get the most out of the Atkins way of life and eating. I am very excited in the time I have been following , since August 10, and so far as of today I dropped 10#. I am so excited, and I am going to succeed!

Don't sweat it. If you want to be super accurate with those cups you'll drive yourself nuts. It is not going to matter all that much. 4.4 are the ounces. that is what 124 grams come to.
