  • Day 3 and No weight loss

    Hi there, I am fairly new here,

    Have started the induction a few months back but on got to 7 days before slipping! I did however lose 5lbs in that week.

    I have restarted monday just gone have pre-made snacks and meals, measuring every single carb and basically following the plan to a T!

    However this time around no weight loss not even a smidgen!!!!!

    Im really disappointed as I have been excercising too this time (Small 30min Workout a day). Really Really need to lose weight as I am getting married next coming august and want to start going dress shopping!!!!

    Any ideas why theres no loss yet???

    Height: 5ft 6"

    Start Weight: 189lbs
    Current Weight: 189lbs

    hi Rachkiss,

    I am on Day 3 of induction never done it before and I actually dont know if I have lost weight or not as I promised myself not to obsess over the scales. I have been reading the board and all the posts for the past few weeks on building up to starting Atkins Induction and without fail the people who weigh themselves everyday are the very people who then say "this woe isn't for me" "it dosen't work" "I am a failure" "what is wrong with me" "no weight loss after day 1" I think it is such a shame that you are putting yourself under so much pressure, just enjoy the woe,carrying on exercising and please put the scales away until day 14. They don't matter anywhere near as much as you taking care of yourself;which you are. Keep yor chin up, dont give in and hide the scales. Some of the more experienced folks will help you more if you let them have an idea of what you are eating daily.

      Welcome Rach! I second that - try to find the power to put away the scale until day 14. I know it's hard, but it will make a huge difference. Then after induction, you can figure out your metabolic resistance and have a weigh plan from there. Everyone is different - I weigh everyday (since induction), but others go months without weighing. Good luck and stick with it! A better, more fit, lighter you is coming!

        We all lose at diferent rates. Some members seem to lose a lot the first week and nothing the second week on induction, some the complete reverse, losingweight during the second week and some lose absolutely nothing in the whole 14 days but start losing when they move to OWL.

        I agree with the members who have suggested you stop weighing till after your 14th day then see how you have done and decide on your next step.

          Thanks for your advice I must confess I am scales obsessed!!!! I suppose it was just great seeing the weight drop off after 1 day on the scales before (lost 2lbs on day 1 last time), I know its only water weight but still gives me a boost!

          Will anxiously try NOT to weigh myself and will let you know what day 14 brings!!!

              Put that scale away, smile, and keep it up! You WILL lose. Weigh every two weeks.
