  • Week 1 done :-)

I am so excited today is the end of week one for me. I can tell you I have no waivered or cheated at all. I have energy now, down 12.2 pounds and the cravings have stopped.

This might not feel like a big milestone for some but for me and a person who has always unhealthy it is big

I could not have made it this far without these boards and my hubby (love you!) sooooo thanks!

    Re: Week 1 done

Ps I wanted to say this has been a tough week with temptations at work with baby showers, lunches etc but I did not waiver. I ate my prepared induction foods and kindly declined.

Here was a conversation had earlier today with a coworker (cw is short for that!)

CW: Boy you have lost weight
ME: Well 12.2 pounds to be exact
    CW: What diet you doing?
ME: I am not doing a "diet". I just changed my lifestyle and decided to do the atkins lowcarb since my DH is a type 1 diabetic.
CW: Oh you buy into that crap?
ME: Have you actually researched and tried it?
    CW: Well no
Me: Then how do you know what is crap?
    CW: Ok bye!

I thought it was just quite funny. Folks have an opinion on something they have never read up on it. Oh well I just need to come up with some clever come backs I guess...

      Re: Week 1 done

I actually had a former coworker I saw at a festival, recently, who is about 300 pounds tell me that Atkins doesn't work. She knew me when I was 500 pounds and I'm now 180. She then told me she was back doing Weight Watchers but hadn't lost anything. She was diving into a ice cream as big as my head while I was talking to her.

She told me that she did Atkins for a while, but she finally got sick of steak, corn and peas and carrots and didn't lose anything. Go figure! I guess she will want to wait for another few years to see if I keep the weight off before she takes the plunge.

Some people just want to take the hard road. LOL

When you are alone in your head, you are in a bad neighborhood.

          Great work, Traci

I am proud of you for getting through the week on plan and so pleased you are already reaping the benefits
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

            Thanks!

Irish - some folks will NEVER get it. Unfortunately you can not make them either. I think you look FAB!!
