  • Im terrible

    Last week on day 5 , i cheated with pizza, 2 pieces, and then i fell off track. I quit Atkins and now i feel so bad.

    It was just so hard, wanting even a piece of bread, and now im back to my starting weight, I wish i hadn't cheated.

    So im going to try again Tuesday, August 25, I wish I had someone kicking me in the arse for the cheating I did.

    No one I know , friend or family wise, wants to do diet with me, which making it hard, they are all eating foods I can't eat around me and it makes me tempt so much.

    Well Wish me luck, I wish I knew I could fight cravings someway.

    That's what we're here for. When you get tempted to cheat, come look at the before & after pictures...that really helps!

      Mbud,

      No worries, messing it up some is part of the learning process.

      One of the things I've tried to overcome cravings is that when I do resist a temptation I get myself a treat (not food). Like some new game or gadget I've been wanting. Or maybe a new book, massage, or even just a free night to be irresponsible and not think about being a grownup! I find this kind of helps me to keep going day to day because I think about what I might get for not eating carbos instead of what I'm missing because of the carbs.

      Also, if you need it I will be happy to help you with a swift kick in the rear if you'll agree to do the same for me when my resolve waivers!

        One hurdle many of us had to get over was that old "well I messed up eating ****** so I might as well eat ***** and **** and ******* and start again tomorrow/next week/next month etc" feeling.

        If you decide to eat something off-plan for whatever reason this is no reason to stop eating on-plan. Just chalk it up to experience and carry on eating to plan the next bite.

        Then try to work out why you gave yourself permission to eat the 'wrong' food and think about how you are going to avoid acting the same way the next time. If you can have soem strategies in place it will be easier to act differently next time.

          Oh buddy you can do it!!!! Trust me, I think I love food more than anyone, I love the smell, the taste, holding the fork, the feel of the food wrapper, unwrapping it,holding the bowl, the way the food falls...see I'm addicted!!! I just started on Atkins 1 week ago, so I'm on Induction w/ ya!!! We're all in the same boat, so even though your friends or family don't want to diet w/ you, we are all here to cheer you on!!!

              yep i agree you can definitely do it!!

              i had no control whatsoever and now it is pretty easy and i almost never deal with cravings

              just make sure that you follow induction to a "t" and read the book if you havent!!

              get back on that horse!
