Mock danishes always cure that sugar craving in me:

    1 egg
    1 oz cream cheese
    1 splenda packet
    dash of vanilla
    dash of cinnamon

mix all ingredients in a bowl with an electric mixer (comes out smoother that way) then microwave. I microwave at 1:25 but you can do it longer or shorter.

Then I also like to put some butter on top after alls said and done, just really makes it tasty

The unknown can be depressing if you allow it. As far as the mock sweets, Spazzy knows her stuff, I don't . I hope you feel better soon and don't think about it too much just do what you gotta do. Good Luck and Please continue to post what ever is going on wrong, so that you can recieve the support that you need. Its gonna get better, just hang in there.

        I can absolutely relate.
I dont like not being able to do/eat what I want, especially cause in my head I "deserve" to.

someone once suggested a trick for this: try saying it outloud: itns not that I CAN'T eat this, it's that I CHOOSE NOT TO.

It might sound hokey, but it's worked for me.

stay with it, we're all behind you :hug

the bkues are part of your sugar withdrawal make sure you are picking veggies high in potassium from the list and make sure you are drinking all your water.

As to the sweets this is when you shoyuld not have them since you are craving them kill th4e craving with a high fat food instead if you are hyungry if not drink some water and do something that doesn't trigger eating like exercise or read a book. It will help you concur your addiction.

focus on what you can have and say those out loud. I can have ------- and I can eat whenevery I am hungry as much as I need are two biggies.

Soon your ketissi will be controlling your hungry and you will not be wabnting sweets as long as you follow the plan rules.

            twlovechild:
Hello and so sorry your blue.
jimenitayo said a great thing, (put in my own words) do positve self talk. My husband once said to me re: some ice cream I wanted, he said, " just dont have it today, tomorrow it will still be here.... and when tomorrow comes it will be here and the next etc....Just choose to put it aside so you can start seeing results."
Like jimenitayo said, it might sound a little hokey, but it re-enforces that you are in control. I told my husband once that when I wanted to eat something bad, I told him I felt I needed to eat it sugar stuff right then, because in a weird way I feel like it was going to run away and I would never be able to have it again. Thinking about it that way is just plain silly of me. I mean there is is a store on every corner these days, if i really want something i could just get in my car and go.
I try to think to myself, eat like Laura Ingels (spelled wrong) on Little house on the Praire.
I know thats a fictional show, but people back then worked for everything they ate. And they "exercised" ( that would be they farmed, walked everywhere, did endless chores, etc..) and I would imagine they were trim people. With the exception of the great big fat lady with the traveling Circus.
Its early and I probaby sound so silly, but if you stop and think about how easy it is to eat sugary stuff without working for it, it may help you to choose not to eat it. We live in a lazy place today and food companies want us to eat all that sugar stuff b/c they get rich and we get fat.
Choose not that cookie or ice cream, go outside and walk, or clean out some drawers in you house, do something else to get your mind of the sugar, b/c you deserve to be happy, fit and in control! You can beat those feelings!

                :hug hang in there.

I can totally relate because that was me just last month. I thought I would go nuts. You just have to just ignore it, no matter how hard it may be and keep going. Like they said, it is part of your withdrawal from the sugar and starchy carbs. But also, part of it is a kind of mental goodbye to your destructive ways of the past. It would be nice to eat the food we want, not gain weight or get high blood pressure or get Type II, or whatever but we can't. And that is a sad realization we must come to face, in order to control this battle. When you feel this way, avoid all magazines, commercials etc. that have food being advertised. Read a book, go for a long walk or get/get into a hobby. Anything to fill the time you spend worrying about cravings or missing food. Of course, you did the best thing of all: you came here to talk about it. Good job on doing that! Just try to hang in there and not let your cravings get the best of you. Just think of your 15 day weigh in and how surprised and happy you will be by your loss! Stay strong! ha

                  Freedom

If you stick to Atkins the day will come when the healthy foods you are eating will be the foods you want.

                  Thats freedom.
                  ha

It takes your body and your mind some time to adjust to the change but you will change.

One of those changes will be in your palate. You simply won't crave the sugar anymore. After a while you will see a major difference in your response to sugar. You will see the addictive quality in it from a new perspective and be grateful to be free from it.

Being addicted to carbs and subjected to out of control eating behavior - that is something to be depressed about. Resisting those impulses will soon bring you peace of mind.

Don't give up. You can do this!
Suffering is necessary until you realize it is unnecessary. Eckhart Tolle
