  • I feel like crap!!

    I'm on day 6 of induction and I feel absolutely HORRIBLE!!! I slept until almost 11 (after going to bed before 11 last night), woke up feeling nauseous and dizzy AND took a two hour nap after forcing myself to eat some scrambled eggs with cheese. What's going on? Please help!!! I cannot survive like this, but I am doing so well on Atkins, I don't want to stop.
    Does anyone have an explanation? Thanks!

    It is induction flu. Happens to most of us. Just take it easy. Drink your water - it will pass quickly. You are about to transition into ketosis.

      Oh. I thought I had that the other day...I had horrible bowel movements that lasted for almost the whole 3rd day. Could it just reappear like that?

        Are you getting enough veggies? You might want to post your menus...

          Basic Menu:
          Breakfast: 2 scrambled eggs with cheese (and maybe some bacon if I can force myself to eat it)
          Lunch: Spinach and romaine salad with boiled eggs and shredded cheese (full fat caesar dressing)
          Dinner: hot wings and spinach

          That's what I basically eat... of course there are variations, but I think this is good.

            Was your diet pre-Atkins full of lots of sugar and carby stuff? If so, it could be your body adjusting.

            I felt a little blah my first few days but I eat a wide variety of things (from the Induction list). Don't know if that made a difference.

              Yeah, my diet pre-Atkins was full of all that crap, even when I was restricted calorie!!! I feel better now, though, so hopefully everything's run its course.

                I sort of went through an induction flu. The thing was I never ate much sugary stuff before. I do remember that in about 3 weeks into an extended induction, I stopped at a Pollo Tropical to pick up eats for my mom. I suddenly realized how great I felt! I'm telling you, I was euphoric. I felt that I was on drugs or something. I did suffer from mental fogginess at first but it subsided after those initial 3 weeks.

                      By tomorrow you should be on your feet and feeling great! Stay strong, if you have a headache or body aches take a couple pain relievers. Make sure you're drinking a minimum of 64 ounces of pure water - that will really help to get the nasties out of your system and make you feel much better since it gets your internal organs working. Go for a walk, dance a little, anything to get your mind off how bad you feel!!
