  • Should I start Over?

    The more I read the book ( and' i've read it 2x now ) the more I am learning about my own Induction and just why doing a clean induction is so important. I thought I was 'clean" , but realize that 1 culprit is the caffeine. I Quit smoking a year ago cold turkey, so to give up caffeine should be a bit easier to do. I've spent a lot of time reading about caffiene and it's affects whether on Induction or simply living your life...and I think it may be contributing to some issues I have with my blood sugar etc. Now I"m not having stalls on my induction now and I've completed day 6, but wondering if I should start over and count a new day 1 tomorrow without caffeine and better organize my eating. That way I can honestly say I had a clean induction? What is your opinion?

    I wouldn't start over if I were you if the caffeine is the only problem identified. I would just get through the probable headache for the 2-3 days it takes to get it out of my system and just keep going. It would be different if you had been snacking on cookies or french fries, of course.

    You don't have a lot to lose, so you probably shouldn't spend more than the 14 days in induction, to give you time to move through the phases of OWL, learn about foods and how they affect you and discover your CCLL in time for maintenance. As important as losing the weight is preparing yourself to keep it off for life.

      Yea I wouldn't even think anything of it. Just continue on as if nothing happened ya know, keep on keepin on.
      Just may have to grin and bare a little carb sickness.

        You should not start over. You should continue. Just remember to eat enough and to get all your nutrients in there in the form of veggies and supplements.
        Drink plenty of water too.

          Thanks for the advice. I'll move forward. Today is day 7. The end of the first week of induction and have lost 6.2 lbs in my first week!

                Thank you! I'm happy with it. I managed to cut out caffeine at night, I had a decaf only and boy do I feel so sleepy. at 9/10pm I am usually working in my home office able to focus well. Even after my run tonight, I feel like I could drop dead LOL. I'm exhausted from typing and too lazy to type more LOL

                  congrats on your awesome loss so far...It will take time for your body to re-establish where it gets its energy from when you cut out caffeine. But you should be tired at night unless you work nights.
