emotional breakdown??
urplequ: ok, its today now, my 11th day no cheats, but the question is this...Has anyone ever just sat down and cried their eyes out for no apparent reason?? I did this last nite after fixing the family a nice spagetti dinner (of course I didn't dare have any). I felt as though I had too much pressure on myself and had a complete boo hoo pity me moment. could be tom combined with new way of eating maybe?? I feel fine today, everything back to normal, (things always seem worse at night for some reason and always look better in the morning sun I've always said). Just wondered if any one else had this happen and is it normal??

cook the atkins way
if pasta is a temptation for you i would recommend making atkins friendly food for your family next time. i recommend
foil dinners. put a hamburger patty in foil with a bunch of chopped
veggies. add a little water and seasoning, then bake in the oven.
delicious!
when you get to owl you can have wonderful spaghetti squash, which has a pasta texture and tastes yummy.
congratulations on staying strong. proud of you.
we all cry. even men, although i meet few that will admit it.
i cry at sad insurance commercials. it is pathetic. but normal.

I had that almost exact same thing happen in the first months of Atkins!!! I made a cheesecake to take with us to bf's parent's place. (I used to be the cheesecake queen and I'd always make and bring one.) I sat there, didn't touch a bite...and watched 6 people eat and rave over the cheesecake and strawberry topping. I was really upset on the long drive home and was really miserable to my poor bf....he got fed up and went out for a while, and I went to bed at 7:30 in a big huff.
I was SO jealous and felt SO left out that I couldn't join in the cheesecake!!
So now, I will make something for myself if I'm going to something like this (At Christmas I brought my own dessert, and it worked out well)
Make sure you have something yummy for dinner when you are making stuff for others.
This all gets easier with time too...I promise you... :sympathy

Perhaps next time you make spaghetti for them you can use thin strips of courgettes (zucchini) for you and make sure the sauce is 'legal' for you to eat too. I use a vegetable peeler to cut thin lengthways strips and boil till al-dente, or you could use aubergines (eggplant).
Doesn't taste the same as with real pasta but we find it an acceptable substitute. Anyway I always thought the sauce was the best bit in the old days!!Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
