  • disappointed...

    I weighed myself this morning (Day 7 of Induction) and was very distraught to see that I only lost 1 pound. I am following the diet exactly, and am very frustrated. I have had induction flu (twice, I think) and have been in Ketosis since Thursday. Aaaaahhhh!!!!
    Just wanted to vent!
    MINI GOALS:
    155 lbs- 9/2/09
    150 lbs-
    145 lbs-
    140 lbs-

    please dont be too much so it gets you off the diet.
    The scale is so different everyday. Today was my one month and I gained a pound from yesterday and yesterday I was cheat free totally.
    The weight didnt add to you over night and it wont come off everynight.
    as long as your losing!!! And you could be losing inches. Learn from me, I wasnt losing fast enough 2 years ago, left atkins gained it all back plus.
    So maybe do fitday, post menus and see what it is next week.
    Are you drinking water? You can vent to me any time, but dont leave ok??

      I needed that, really!!!
      No, I'm not going to leave or get off the plan. It's just really annoying, you know, when you work so hard and get little results (itty bitty ones at that). It just makes me want to work that much harder, so that next week, I look and feel different, you know?

        Don't be too disappointed Jewelstar, you don't have a lot to loose, so its natural that you may loose a little slower than someone that has a lot to loose. Its also important for the ladies to remember that depending on when they start in relation to their monthly cycle can have an impact on what the scale says. For instance, you might be entering a phase in your cycle where normally if you were weighing every day you would see an increase. So while you are only seeing 1 pound lost on the scale, it may be 1 pound plus whatever your normal cycle increase would have been if you weren't doing Atkins. Does that make sense?
        1st Goal ~ 199 Onderland -Met 3/29/10
        2nd Goal ~ 174 No longer obese
        3rd Goal ~ 150 In the home stretch
        Final Goal ~ 145 or below (I'll know when I get there) No longer overweight

        1) 35 pounds lost
        2) 40 pounds lost to move to Rung 5
        3) 45 pounds lost to update 15 pound loss picture series

          As Barb said you don't have much to loose so don't get disappointed. Did you take your beginning measurements? You may be loosing inches. Keep going.

                About the only thing I ever got from Weight Watchers that I could use, was when I only lost a quarter pound one week after eating perfectly on program. I was so dissapointed, and a counselor who was weighing me said, "hey, don't be disappointed, that's a stick of butter". So now when I have small losses that seem irrelevant, I put them into the butter perspective, and it seems much better. So that one pound, is 4 sticks of butter if you look at it like that.

                  Think of what you lost... Look at 1lb of butter!! When I think of every little pound lost in this way I congratulate myself. Keep at it!! We are with you.

                      Scales are inacurate, bodies fluctuate with water retention... start measuring your inches
