  • Yay!

    Ok -- I started (officially) on 8/11/09 @ 308lbs. Lost 2.5lbs -- gained 5lbs. Was 311 on 8/24/09. Got focused and now as of this morning I am at 300.5lbs. Soooo -- in the last 7 days I've lost 11lbs. YAY!
    Oh yea -- is it common to get leg cramps at this point? I used to get them a lot when I was very active, but I got a cramp in each thigh on Saturday nite and thought I would die! It was the first time in ages.

    If I drink my water I get leg cramps. It's like a diuretic and flushes out my potassium. I make sure and take a multi vitamin with potassium and the cramps go away.

      It can be a mineral deficiency, something like potassium, calcium, magnesium. But other things can cause leg cramps too. Did you see your doctor before starting Atkins? If you are taking a multivitamin already, then check with your doctor if you need additional supplements.

            Make sure to take a good multi vitamin/mineral pill everyday while on Atkins... if you still get leg cramps take some extra magnesium...
