  • Ketosis

Sorry the answer is bound to be here somewhere but I am running around like a loony at the moment - 3 kids, just in from work and they all want something and me I want my sausages!

Just done a ketosik thing and it is on the 0.5 slightly pink - being thick, is this the start of ketosis??

Thank you as I know some kind soul will have the answer

    Re: Ketosis

Sounds like small (or maybe trace) - my understanding is it doesnt matter what level of darkness you are in... once youre in youre in.

      Re: Ketosis

Any color means you are in keotsis -- if you come up with dark purple it could be because you are dehydrated or because of foods you are eating.

I have never shown color on the sticks but I know I'm in keotsis because of a fruity taste in my mouth, bubbly urine, a strong urine smell...those are better gauges of keotsis.

Congratulations -- watch those sausage for hidden sugars....make sure you read all labels and understand the different words for "sugar" in the ingredients.

      Good luck.

        thank you

And as an aside, I have changed over to soya milk - low carb and for cholesterol. I guess that it is ok to drink???

          Re: Ketosis

Sarah - most british bangers are not induction-friendly due to the breadcrumbs/rusk/wheat products added as fillers. do check the ingredients list to make sure they only have meat and spices in them. You are more likely to find the german-type sausages are OK rather than the traditional british ones I have found.

As for soy milk, this becomes an option when you reach the 6th level/rung of the OWL carbohydrate ladder, not induction. You 'could' water down some single or double cream to make it more of a milk consistency but as I never drink milk I don't know how much different that would taste. I used it for cooking when the recipe called for milk when on induction.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
