  • New here and starting tomorrow

    Hello!

I am both new to this board and this diet and am already looking for help! I've always been very much the planner but being brand spankin new to this has left me a bit out of sorts. If you could take a look at the menu below that I've prepared for tomorrow, and give any advice that comes to mind I'd be grateful. Just wanting to making sure I'm not under or overdoing things

    Breakfast
    2 eggs scrambled
    3 slices of bacon

    Lunch
2 baked tilapia fillets w/ garlic and lemon pepper to taste
    2 cups iceberg lettuce
    1 cup cucumber
2 tbs ranch dressing (2 carbs)

    Dinner
    2 grilled chicken tenderloins
1 cup broccoli w/ 4 ounces ceddar cheese

    Thank you all!

Re: New here and starting tomorrow

    Hi Erin
Looks like you have a good menu going -- my suggestion is you are over 1 cup on veggies -- you should have 2 cups salad vegetables and 1 cup from the other vegetable list -- you have 4 cups total. Also watch your cheese -- the serving is 3-4 ounces daily so you are at the top end. Watch your bacon for sugar and nitrates - there are a few brands that don't have them so read your labels.

Are you drinking 64 ounces of pure water daily? That is the minimum recommendation in the book. Hope you've read the book also - you'll understand the plan so much better if you do read it.

    Good luck.
    Carole

Oh excellent I'll just knock out the cucumbers then. I'll definately have to check the bacon before cooking later, and I've read the beginning and induction portions of the book but no further. Thanks for the advice!
